    BMI

What is your Body Mass Index?
How does it compare with recommended levels?
    Happy with it?
If not, what do you propose to do about it?

My guess is that you will rank in the top 10% of TD members (many will refrain from disclosure). Mine is 31. Being confined to a wheelchair for the past almost 2 years, there is little I can do about mine.

Are you getting out of the wheelchair before you weigh yourself? This will have a major bearing on the result.

Given the numbers supplied to date, members must be on a diet of alcohol only. (555)

BMI is hugely inaccurate. It doesn't differentiate between body fat and muscle. Muscle tends to be heavier, and if you are quite muscular, it throws your BMI reading into the realm of meaningless. It also doesn't differentiate between types of body fat, in which a 'normal' BMI reading can lull an individual into believing they are at no, or low, risk.

BMI is used by doctors because it's quick and easy, and can be used as ONE indicator. Really doesn't mean much.

'BMI is hugely inaccurate.' (Davis Knowlton)
HUGELY? What is a better general definition?
I suggest that you & Chico have an open debate in order to resolve this hugely important matter.

CNX37: You are, and always have been through all your niks, a raving lunatic. You were when you were jailed twice as CNX37, and when you were banned as Spam In A Can. I hardly give a shit about your opinion.

I think if one has sufficient mass to be worried about the index, then the mass is too much.
    Mine's about 24.3.

A grand total of 5 people submitted their BMI. Of the TD membership nothing more needs to be said.

It's all a load of bollix. About 2 year ago I was deemed to be obese. I took up cycling and went on a diet. I lost 12 Kilo. Then everyone commented I was too thin and looked ill. I started to get medical problems associated with my immune system. I stopped the dieting and regained the weight but kept up the cycling. Medical problems have now disappeared and I feel better.
In appearance I'm not overweight but my BMI indicates I'm obese. I'm 32 on the BMI scale and fitter than a butchers dog.
