My New Year's Gift to all you Old, Alchoholic, Carb, Sugar Addicts

Yes I'm feeling generous. If you are afraid 2017 will be your last year - have no fear! After

extensive research I have discovered the way to keep at bay the dreaded cancer, heart attack,

    diabetes & other age ailments.

You might be old but you can rejuvenate. Your metabolism can be like a thirty year old. You can

sustain your debauched lifestyle. But you should do one thing every three months. Take a break.

Go on a fast for four days. That's it. And then go back to the drinking & the junk food.

    Small price to pay.

    Here's the link.

Watch it all. (The Dr. that presents the interview knows a thing or two. Hard thing to say me being a long-term misogynist. But credit due and all that).

I don't hate the US and Euro people. It's their politicians who are the dickheads.

I just had a most delicious toasted ham, cheese and onion sandwich with lashings of dijon mustard for lunch and a nice hot cup of frehsly brewed coffee.
Sorry, Is this the lunch thread?

Yes, you can have your cake and eat it too. Just add the willpower to stop every three months. Gets easier the more you do it.

No 'tis not. Question? x 2. How old are you & since when have you not ever eaten or had drink (other than water) for more than 24 hours?

So why is fasting good for you? Essentially what happens when you fast is that the organs

actually shrink. They will maintain the essentials for good health & eliminate that which is

detrimental to health. And when you eat junk food and drink lots of booze there is much work for

the organs to do to get rid of that accumulated crap. This is why you need 3 to 4 days. So the

organs can do what they need to do.

After which the organs can begin accumulating more crap from your debauched lifestyle. But you have to give them a chance to recuperate, otherwise bad shit is on your horizon.

Intermittent fasting works too. I only eat when really hungry, once or twice a day, then skip a day or so, and don't eat junk food. My diet's largely raw nuts, grains, fruit, with dairy foods, fish and eggs, plus added Vits C, B3 and muli-B with minerals to balance.

Yes I do this, only eat and booze 5 hrs in 24. Anything including KFC, Burgers, Pizza, RTD's.

(But not very often). Mostly meat, green leafy stuff, nuts, some dairy, wine. No sugar as I don't

want to rot my teeth, and it's poison anyway. Minimize bread, carbs & sweet stuff, but don't

beat yourself up if you can't resist.

And do a fast every three months. Very easy to do. Put it into a smart phone app to remind yourself.

Have read most of that thread. There are none so blind as those who do not want to see.

Fasting may have been at one time just an opinion of a fringe element. But now the scientific

evidence in favor of some form of it is accumulating at such a rate that even professional

ignoranus' struggle to willfully ignore it.

Ha ha! Fasting a day or so a week is good, I stop eating a few hours before sleep at night, continue through the next day and night then have breakfast on the third day. Drink water,.. with a little lime juice if needed.

No sugar and lowered carb levels work, no bread, pastries pasta, rice, except on occasions, maybe once every week or so, nuts are 20% protein and the rest in carbs, oil and fibre. Protein deficiency's no good, lose muscle and start swelling, edema.

Booze doesn't do me much good unless it's my home brew or a decent wine, in moderation.

I'm down with ya on the Home Brew ENT, Jesus I'm still missing my Home brew after 3 years here.

Never bought beer for 15 years back in Perth, always brewed up my Coopers sparkling Ale and Stout.

    Fooking wonderful it was.

Still have my brew kit and bottles in my Garage at home though ready anytime to go again.

If you eat and drink in moderation in the first place, there is absolutely no need for any of these fads.

    Of course it is,

Jesus, eat correctly, have a few drinks, do a bit of exercise and pump a few weights and life is good.

    Has always worked for me.
