Had to go back to the bar and get my keys
^ Definitely a strong waft of Mintiness off that.
When I go out for a walk, an easy pace is about 6km/h, a moderate pace is about 6.6km/h and a brisk pace is about 7km/h. I'm always sober though, and not obese, so that helps.
I use the same routes all the time. The roads have kilometre markers and are fixed. I have also used other ways to measure the distances. The distances aren't in dispute. I use a stopwatch to time myself on every walk and run and I can do the simple arithmetic to work out average paces.
* I also have a Garmin, which is not always accurate but sometimes it is. I don't rely on the Garmin.
Some examples of my walks from this month:
3.25 miles (5.2km) in 45 minutes 30 seconds = 8.75mins/km = 6.8km/h
4.5 miles (7.2km) in 64 minutes 15s = 8.9 mins/km = 6.72km/h
5 miles (8km) in 69 minutes 36 seconds = 8.7 mins/km = 6.89 km/h
6.25 miles (10km) in 85 minutes 50s = 8.583 mins/km = 6.99km/h
I'll be off out in a few minutes to do something. Not sure if it will be a run or a walk.
I warmup on my treadmill, 5 min at 6 kph, then jog/run at 10 kph. 6 kph is a "brisk" walk and does take effort. 3-4 kph I'd call a stroll. But, to each their own, how long your stride is and the slope of the terrain/treadmill all come into play.
I've seen it reported that the average human walk is 4 mph, for me @ 3.5 mph. Again, to each their own.
Dill's first pix shows 5.5 kph for 2 hours - in my book that's "effort", not a casual stroll.
That is effort 5.5 especially when it's averaging all your steps up through the day.
I fudged the big numbers up today, not the speed, noticed the app has an edit feature for cheating
I've really done just over a thousand steps today. Well it is the Sabbath
Get a few chinchillas like AO and Slap
I'm just back and showered. I did 5 miles/8km: 7 km walking and 1 km running. Here are the times, heart rates and cadence according to my Garmin, and my percieved effort.
km1 to km4 walking.
km 1: 8m 55s. HR 83, cadence 123, started off at an easy effort (HR 81), picked up to moderate effort after 400m.
km 2: 8m 41s. HR 83, cadence 123, moderate effort.
km 3: 8m 45s. HR 83, cadence 120, moderate effort.
km 4: 8m 25s. HR 83, cadence 119, mostly a brisk effort.
km5: easy jogging.
km5: 5m 20s, ave HR 119, max HR 125, cadence 165, easy jogging.
km6 to km8 walking again
km 6: 8m 21s, ave HR 92, max HR 126, cadence 124, fairly brisk effort.
km 7: 8m 27s, HR 83, cadence 121, brisk effort
km 8: 8m 24s, HR 83, cadence 121, mostly a brisk effort
Total time: 65m 20s: 5m20s running 1km, 60 minutes walking 7km.

I had my heart rate up to 124 the other day doing a brisk walk. Is that bad?
Heart rate depends on a lot of factors, Dill: age, weight, current fitness level, and much more. We're all different. If you monitor your heart rate regularly, you get to know what is good for you, what is high for you, and what is normal.
Never looked at it before or understood the figures Got a monitor on this 3 year old phone too.
It's in the 70s rather than 80s at rest now
As you get fitter and lose more fat weight, your resting heart rate should reduce and it should be less when exercising or doing some effort. My resting heart rate is in the low 40s. A brisk walk and it is about 83. I find temperature affects my heart rate noticeably; it's higher when I am hot, lower when I am cool.
My tracker say resting 55-57, but when I had the super check at BKK hospital it came back 51 which I got many compliments on. It was 67 resting 18 months ago. Other than rainy days I have worked out every day for the last 17 months.
Says 70 is normal on my app.
This was Tuesday but look at the bottom. You two have died at some point
