You would be better off getting the free eye test in the UK, then bringing your prescription over, I would think, even in Bangkok they are not as thorough as the UK, the places I tried anyhow.

Having bad eyesight is good, it's a great excuse when the Missus mates tell her you were seen coming out of the local knocking shop, falling out of the bar etc

I always used to see free eye tests or for a fiver at places like Specsavers, D&A, and Morrisons funnily enough.

Find your prescription, then pick up some fake Gucci or Dolce & Gabanna sunglasses here, take them to an optician and they will put you some tinted lenses in, for your eyes. I haven't done it myself, but I read somewhere that's a cheap way to go about it

There's one on Phosi Road about 50m before the first roundabout on the left (south) side of the road. Speaks good English, is affordable and does a decent job. Has a large choice of frames too.

i use the one in old big c plaza, sakon nakhon rd (22) and ring rd, competent exam, and good pricing.

Most opticians here offer same day service so you won't have long to wait.
Always have my eyes tested here and they have all the equipment and more than you might find in the U.K.

Top Charoen have branches everywhere but usually try to charge over the top rates. You can get a quote from them then go somewhere else for something cheaper.

Thanks lads for all the help ,, I sure need to renew my glasses , and if I can save a good bit from rip off Britain it will be a bonus.

Wife used this 1 as well.

Top Charoen are good because their staff are often open to offers.

Went to Udorn optical Fri,day night , about 40 min test , ordered 2 sets of tinted non reflective , plus new frames £115 the lot ! Well pleased , even didn't surcharge me for having eaten a load of fresh garlic about an hour before I went in. I think he is Chinese but speaks fair english. Job done t
