This is his website that he was working on at the time. The FARANG Speaks 2 Much
News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.
^He probably means 'The Pickled Liver'. Maybe one of them was pissed and plaiting his tongue.
What was that called before?

Not so. We have moved on to a different watering hole for Friday arvos now.
Cheap Charlie's is a nice place if you enjoy being mauled by fat transvestite Israeli bitches tho.
The Witches Tavern on Ruamrudee is good on Fridays. 2 for 1 on everything including Guinness!Originally Posted by Lily

The woman that I share with is a restaurant consultant for Gaysorn Plaza and she gets invited to just about every promotion and magazine and product launches that are held.
I have been to some very swanky places either with her of just with her invite.
Everything free.
Kind of, but most people call them both The Witches Tavern.Originally Posted by Lily

How about Marmite's posts on where one can get Marmite in Bangkok - that's what we really need to know. And I don't mean that nasty sanitoriom aussie marmite in the reb plastic jars.
In late 80's early 90's Bobbys Arms was great, used to use it every time I was there - haven't been to Bangkok for 10 years and sorry that it has gone down hill.
Was running a seminar in Bangkok in 1997 for 30 European Insurance execs and we had a Traditional English Roast dinner booked at the Duset Thani.
3 hours before we were due to get there they called and told me that as HM The King was going there to present some award or other, they had to cancel our booking .
In 3 hours Bobbys had rearranged their tables- organised live music and served up one of the best roast dinners the assorted mob of 30 people had ever had !
What a pity it has changed so much .
i live in the uk,but whenever im in thailand i always drink in my place, sometimes at wongs,my place has not changed much since i first went there 16 yrs ago, same people own it,same cashier, num, kennys sis owns it now, kenny works as cashier in black n white bar down soi cowboy after a stint as a chef in uk,my triend joy still frequents the bar, seems like she is married to it,i love it around sri bumphen, gotta hold on to your cash,a few dodgy folk but still not sold out,and still only people in the know go there,i prefer these kind of bars than pat pong etc.
I have been frequenting a relatively new Bangkok pub on Soi 23 across from Chokchai Steak House.
It is named Crossbar , 3 or 4 flatscreen TV's, newly furnished. Has a kitchen and a really good fresh ground cheeseburger/Hamburger. Best I have had in Thailand.
Actually I liked the bitter at the Londoner but I know Marmite and me have opposite tastes in beer.
I was in BKK the other week and had a "medium" breakfast at the Robin Hood.
280bt after tax that they add on.2 poxy sized sausages,2 eggs, bacon that tasted like it was smoked with plastic, fried tomato, beans, toast and tea.
The toast was the best part.Didnt even have brown sauce.Never again
I could have walked out quite easy without paying which I felt like doing after being served such a shitty breakfast for nearly a fiver.Im honest and didnt but if the staff are more concerned with changing the TV channel for some guy who wanders in with a briefcase trying to look important then I guess some people do just walk out.

I you need a good brekky, try the Soi 22 (diner) sort of place, its down on the RH side just past where Soi 20 joins into 22. The Big lady there does a kick ass English brekky.
Surroundings don't meet Londoner standards but value for money, hard to beat. Good Bangers, excellent home fries, even good coffee.
I always thought The Londoner was pretty crap anyway for anything, although some of the girls that work there are "nice"
Edit: Old age, ain't it a bastard,
I read Mels post and thought he was talking about the Londoner, and its Robin Hood, probably the most disgusting place in Bangkok.
I went to the Robin Hood once.
Twice won't be happening.
There were flyers in the Robin Hood for a meet Stephen Hendry (snooker bod) night. Must be trying to drum up new trade. Its not going to draw me back again. Try value for money and service if youre reading
I would post some updates, but I cannae.
I'm pretty happy with the Dubliner breaky
