No a serious question.
The internet is a powerful tool and if you use it correctly with thousands of potential customers looking at this forum daily both in Thailand and abroad.
Of course you must have a good presentation and more importantly a good bar to remind people to drop in for a beer and feed when they are in Bangkok.
And also a fraction of the price when compared to hard-copy advertisements.
Too often people put up shit banners and don't maintain and update them which does not impress people.
I am interested to know why you feel advertising here is a waste of time.

I don't believe it would draw in enough new customers to make it a viable proposition. Because of the location of the bar I don't think many people would go out of their way to visit it just because they saw a banner on TD. I think that any expat who lives or works in the area that the bar is located is quite aware of the place and either visits or does not. A banner here will make no difference to them. The bar has a small group of expat regulars and relies mostly on the hotel crowd and passing trade of tourists. People are very unlikely to go out of their way to visit this type of bar just because they see a banner here on TD.Originally Posted by Loy Toy
However, that said. What I do think would be a realistic and viable choice of advertising would be a banner on the forum for the -5 Ice Bar that is also part of the establishment. This is something that would attract interest of people willing to go out of their way slightly to visit as it is a much more unique product than a faux Irish pub.
-5 Ice Bar Silom Road Bangkok Thailand
^ Fairy nuff mate but I also believe a lot of Thailand Newbies and non-members who view this forum will note down the place as a "Must Do" and when they first visit Thailand.
It is quite amazing how many LOS newcomers don't even venture past their hotel lobby bar because the nightlife here is quite threatening when you don't know the scene.
This bar is quite farang friendly and suits the newcomers perfectly.
I would advertise on these type of forums and if I had a bar similar to the one in question.
send me the info and I might just do that!

Please Note
If you are a business in Thailand and want a copy of a Thai id card for tax purposes please note our rates, your local Thai noodle stand does not supply a bill or copy of id card for such small amounts, so please don't expect us to, if you want to talk proper money for advertising rates, contact the BBC or CNN.
Please don't waste our time on this, you will not be getting any copies of Thai id cards.Late Payment
Unless previously arranged there is no such thing as late payment, if your payment is due on the 5th and not paid, on the 6th we take down your advertising, the word "Tomorrow" means the next day, ie if you say you will pay tomorrow on the 5th of the month, tomorrow is the 6th, we don't want to waste our time sending you reminders, so don't waste ours if your understanding of the word "Tomorrow" is different to ours.
Over to you DD.Originally Posted by mightyharriss
^^ I thought they were quite good statements noodles, when you get someone wanting to spend 40baht perday on advertising they really aint gonna get a copy of an id card, as for late payments noodles, I been in Thailand around 20 years, I think that statement explains it quite well, tomorrow is the next day, sadly many people don't seem to realise that and think it maybe a week or a month away, how much time you willing to spend chasing up 40baht perday payments noodles?
the office bar has advertised on here for a year or 2 so he thinks its worthwhile, ok his spot gets shown 3 to 4 million times per month to 400,000+ unique users per month, he thinks it is worthwhile, if he didn't he would have pulled his advertising, although I will admit I don't know Bangkok and which are the preferential areas etc.
And remember noodles, we may get 400 members log on everyday, but we do get about 16,000 unique visitors perday.

^Any chance you can do a new thread on "Marmites Guide to Pubs in Udon"?
Up there for a couple of days next month and need more info.
Last time I had breakfast at the Irish Clock place and spent some time in the aircraft hanger area where the bars are, but apart from that it was just a drunken haze and I would like to have some kinda idea this time some places worth going.
Oh. Also remember Mr.Tongs, which was nice....................
Anywhere else checking out Marmers???????
Black diamonds? I shit 'em.
