I guess what works for them didn't work for me.

Wow, that was nice! I'd send you a green for pure fortitude but you're maxed out with me.

OK, equal parts restraint and sucking up.

Its called Los Cabos. I'm going there for a meal on Friday night so will let you know how it goes. I went there for drinks before they opened. Margaritas are good.

The pastor should have one slice of pineapple on the top of the spit to juice down the meat. Does this place have a spit, I really would like to know. Cause I make fake pastor here by thinly shaving meat, marinating it, and then quick grilling it. But the real pastor as you know is very close to a shawarma, or a kebab.

I have recently tried this place and the food is very good but overpriced with small portions

A drink and what was supposed to be a large burrito ended up costing me close to 400 baht , more than it would back home

May try the Sat. night deal as that seems more reasonable

The food etc is just getting better at T&S.

If you can't afford the tarriff go get a bowl of rice noodles for 20 baht.

I see Ghandi (sic) 's burrito is now up to over 11 dollars, possibly even 12.

Is the price rise to compensate for the food getting better as dotcom says?

Excellent, can't wait for my next trip, even better food and the riff raff won't be in residence....

While the food is decent, I wasn't impressed by the service (albeit friendly).

Stopped in around 4:00pm. There was one other couple in there, just finishing their meal.

The serving girl took my order - I ordered the 3 taquitos, the 2 tacos, and the guacamole and salsa, with an ice tea, specified without sugar.

First thing that happens, she brings me the iced tea, sugared in the usual Thai manner. I point that out, they take it back, and bring me a non sugared tea. Honest mistake, so far - it seems the concept of 'without sugar' is still some kind of rocket science in Thailand.

This is followed by the Guacamole, the chips, and a serving dish with the three types of salsa (albeit minuscule portions, by my standards, of the salsa). The Guacamole was tasty, the chips home made and equally tasty, and the salsa fresh and pleasant flavors.

Then came the two tacos -- and the taquitos never showed up.

    Ever.

I didn't make a point of that. Just finished the tacos, paid the bill, and left.

During this whole time the owner was regaling the couple on the adjoining table, apparently sharing his life's story with them.

At this rate, I preferred Coyote's.

When I ate there the owner was playing sweet on a couple of Thai Boys he was seated with at the front table.

Will give the Saturday evening all you eat deal a try for 350 baht , if that is still going on ?

I agree with a number of posters here the food is good but the service is woeful.

I popped in there last night around 7:30pm with 2 friends and the gf. 3 people ordered main courses (1 chicken, 1 beef, gf ordered the fish) and I ordered a number of the sample dishes. Now the gf made a special point of enquiring about the fish and had a brief convo with the waitress about the dish (the usual 'aroi mai?' etc...).

So, orders in, enjoy a beer whilst waiting. after a short wait - about 10 minutes, the food arrived. Well, 3 people's food arrived, the gf's food was missing. Being polite we waited...and waited.........and waited.

We asked the waitress where the gf's meal was and was informed that she never ordered the dish! This was to the same waitress she had the conversation and ordered with! Now the 3 of us who received food had been overcome with hunger and tucked into our meals....and finished.

Now the gf was still sans food. I asked to speak to Jorge and let him know that the meal we'd ordered still hadn't arrived - this must have been about 40 minutes by now! Jorge apologised profusely and mentioned he'd let us have a jug of margarita - this never came either.

Long and short of it, the gf's meal arrived after about 50 minutes having asked and complained numerous times. The 'sweetner' for having to wait such a long time never appeared. So, it conclusion it was a bit of a disappointment.

The food is good, but sadly for Jorge it looks like the restaurant is running him rather than the other way around. It wasn't that busy when we went in, I think just 6 other customers were there when we turned up, but they'd already finished their meals and nobody came in when we ordered. It's not as if the 3 'nongs' were rushed off their feet.

I will go there again just for the food, but it will be the kind of place I pop into alone and grab a bite rather than going in there with a few people for a 'meal'.

I have nothing new to report about Tacos and Salsa ... basically an affirmation of what I have already seen written. The food is very good. And they have always been happy to adjust it to my tastes : HOT.

I have never myself had a problem with service, but I have seen a couple. One pretty glaring example occurred on my last visit. A Japanese woman placed an order which the staff apparently got wrong. She ended up getting a menu and pointing to the item she wanted. Mexican Fried Rice. It was supposed to come with a side of refried beans or bean soup. When the order can, the waitress (bartender) laid the plate down and walked away, nothing said. NO SIDE. The customer had to get the menu again and point out that she did not get the side. The waitress responded in English, rather brusquely in my opinion, with "uh, what do you what?" I was a bit shocked by this attitude. Jorje needs to jerk a knot in that gals tail. With that attitude, that waitress can chase away a lot more customers than the good food can bring in, I would think. It really is a shame as the food is so good.

Split a large order of nachos on Saturday with a friend. They are pretty damn stingy with the cheese. Place has a gay vibe. Probably give it a pass in the future.

I think Tacos and Salsa is the best Mexican restaurant in Thailand.

I like the waitresses (never had a problem, but I speak Thai). They have never been rude to me....just the opposite.

I have spoken to the owner a couple of time--very friendly and as far as I know, not gay.....think he has a Chinese wife.

I think one of the workers is gay. I have never thought of the place as a gay place at all....no gay vibe at all.

Maybe the day you were there some tourists from San Francisco showed up

I have seen many customers there, Asian and farangs. Depending on what day and what time you go there, you may see a few or many customers.

Stingy with cheese? What Mexican place is not stingy with cheese? It is, as you know, very expensive in Thailand.

I really like the cheese enchilada at Tacos and Salsa, but I do wish there was more cheese inside it, but it is still good.

The salsas are really good (best in town) and Jorge gives three different types to each customer....that is being on the generous side.

In contrast, if you go to say, Sunrise Tacos (yuck!) you get a small amount of one salsa that is boring in comparison.

The good news is we now have several places to go for Mexican food.
