Thai condiments consist of fish sauce, fish sauce with chili, chili with vinegar, and of course sugar, I do have sugar up here, but thats used for tea and coffee, not food, so lets talk about some proper condiments for us white and black folk.
Yesterday I was down the Indian supermarket in South Pattaya and got a jar of this stuff.
Green Indian Chilli Pickle, about 140baht for a jar, its the big chillies sliced and in an oil based liquid, they have a real nice soft slow burn, remember those boring Lays crisps, these pickles sort them out into something delicious, I admit salsa is ok, but this stuff is 10 times better.
PS, its made by Tops of India and I doubt has any relationship to Tops in Thailand, so what else is there?
