    Sandwich

Just got a bread machine and made some great wholewheat bread. checked out the fridge and came up with peanut butter ( Skippy crunchy), mayonaisse (Hellman's), slices of cucumber and a little sprinkle of salt.
    Quite nice.

today once again i had chicken biriani at maxwell foodcourt which is just opposite where i work.

$3.50 for the biriani, $0.50 for the hard boiled egg, price fans.

and i must have looked stupider than usual taking a photo of it with my phone.

Normally my workmates and I will go to somewhere else for lunch on Friday (we don't want to eat in the canteen every day) but tomorrow I will take a day off so we decided to go out for lunch today instead. See, without me = no fun. Hahahaha..

We went to Bangpa-in palace for lunch. This is the name of this food shop.

It's behind the palace, close to Chao-pa-ya river. While we were waiting for food, it's a cam time!

    Ok, food came so..

This is Guay-tiew-ped (noodles with duck)

    It's so yummy!!!

Some friends had Khao-na-ped (rice with duck)

One firend is vegetarian, this is what he had.

Yes, fried vegetable with rice.. hehehe.. and this is what we can't miss!!!

    Such a love lunch!!!

We saw an ice-cream guy was sailing a boat right there in the river then we asked him to come over. Wow, ice-cream after lunch... soooo gooooooddddd....

It's Thai style, not sure if you guys can see thing like this somewhere else.

    Here you go!

It's so lovely, today is just another great day for me.

I'm in New Orleans on business -- ate at The Gumbo Shop (what else?). Combination of seafood (shrimp, crab, oysters, fish) and chicken andouille (Cajun sausage) gumbo, with warm French bread. Glass of sauvignon blanc. Coffee with chicory and bread pudding with bourbon sauce for dessert. Life is good.

    ^^ What's "sarnies"? What's "Hula Hoops"? (I thought it was a toy....)

Typical lunch for me: pork fried rice, iced green tea and clear broth all for 20 baht.

I had my left over stroganoff from last night. Only the kids knew I used beef and not pork. Surprised any was left. Took in tupperware to work bunged it in the microwave while I buttered a couple of slices of french bread. Excellent.

even at the cheapest eating places, all you can buy for 20 baht is a small packet of tissues.

or maybe a hard boiled egg

Do you know American? It's like English but more precise and less quaint.

Sorry. I can't speak simplified English. It'd be a waste of a proper education.

As usual, wiki is my friend:

Sarnie (the usual spelling) - a British and Australian slang word for "sandwich".
Hula Hoops are a salted potato-based snack product, in the shape of short, hollow cylinders.

sarnie is obviously a sardine and a hula hoops my daughter is quite good at making spin around her waist. Easy.

Now how you combine them and eat them is purely British. Dont foget they eat spotted dick and toad in the hole as well.

This is my lunch today (since, again, my numerous basil plants are in high production...gonna have to eat it all soon due to cold weather coming):

I threw in some of my Anaheim peppers as well. Delish!

in the culinary wonderland that is around the area that i work, i had a free choice today as my usual lunchtime buddys were all either off sick or in a meeting or gone to the bank.

so i went to BK and had a mushroom double swiss, onion rings and a coke.

i think thats the first time in 3 months or so i have not had either noodles or rice.
