The Riverside Restaurant & Bar - Chiang Mai

I've been to the Riverside Restaurant a couple of times now as the food is always excellent and the music is good. The place is on a number of levels going down to the river and features not one, but two live bands every night. This place is always busy.

We met up with FriscoFrankie, Chaing Mai Noon and BenBaa for dinner and drinks before heading off the the Un Irish Bar to watch England kick Taffy butt. I'm surprised the Welsh aren't barred from here.

Anyway, I ordered the Penang Gai...

    The Goddess ordered this...

    And it was rather good.

The bill came to just under 3,000B, but that did include 2 bottles of wine and a few other drinks, and a couple of dishes each. Good value I reckon. The only downside was that it took them three goes to bring a plate of steamed rice and they tried to shortchange us by 100B (and my mum wouldn't let me burn the Teffy's flag ).

Let's talk about food a bit. I like what I ordered.. yes, these ones.

Rice was nice but they put fresh peppers there, I don't like it, it tastes terrible but smell good.

CMn, I really wanted to try your dish (chicken thing) but I was shy. Next time, I'll eat yours all. hehehehehehe..

Here you go, CMN. I've exercised the full range of my photoshop skills to put your flag the right way up again.

They could have tried to share some of my food if they wanted, but I don't think they wanted to risk a 'fork in hand' type injury.

Last year we have eaten at the same place and I agree that it is nice. Great location sitting at the water, food is alright and it is much less expensive than I expected.

11 of us went there New Years Eve.... gotta say EVERYONE said it was the best NYE they had had in years. We were there 8 hours, service, EXCELLENT Food EXCELLENT, they bought round poppers, funny hats glasses with funny noses, EVERYTHING was SPOT ON including the music, will definatley go again this year

The Fireworks display at midnight was out of this world' Although I beleive the "Good View" supplied those.

A never to be forgotten night
