Well, that came back and bit me. Last blood test the triglycerides were too high - too much carbo apparently, so back on the hard core salad and veggie diet......

Sorry to hear about the old ticker, Q, and glad to know that you are recovering. On the plus side, you are here to tell the tale and now you know the issue you can manage it.
I don't sweat about the 10K steps a day, that target was just someone's invention and not scientiifically validated. If I hit 6 to 8K a day then I consider that box ticked. More would probably be better, probably.
I have a bicycle but the number of loose dogs patrolling the roads here make cycling an unattractive proposition. I have it parked on the balcony with a cheap resistance stand on the back wheel. TBH that's really boring.

What kind of carbs are you eating? Too much processed carbs will do that. (white bread, muffins etc).. but I eat complex carbs like sweet potato, rice, noodles with veggies and a protein (tofu, beans), and it is a healthy way to eat. I cut out carbs for so long, I was eating just way too much protein. Your body needs carbs, just the right kind. Maybe it is bad carbs or too much fat you are eating. I do not eat much fat, I cut out oil as well.

My father does this in the winter. It is good that at least you are getting some exercise, but too bad there is too many soi dogs to be able to bicycle. Can you join a gym or community center instead?

^Why what is your point? I'd rather not say my weight, but I can tell you that I've completely overhauled my diet and I know what I am talking about in regards to lowering your bp and cholesterol. So, if you are implying that I don't know what I am talking about because I may not be thin, then get off your high horse.

    It's a question, not a point.

You are giving health advice based on your own personal experiences of diets and exercise, the least you could do to give it credibility is to back it up with photos and numbers of your bp and cholesterol. :-)

Through my own daily exercise/diet I'm usually fairly healthy.

I've unfortunately been out of exercising for the last 6 weeks and the results are definitely not good.

The pounds have certainly gone on.

I'd also like to point out that I never, ever, change my t-shirt due to religious beliefs.

Would be great to see the results of what you're preaching, MM. :-)

I had mentioned in another thread, that since I've been vegan, I want to get my blood work done soon, probably in a month or so, to see the results based on my previous bloodwork. My cholesterol was high and my BP was medium high.

Do you think that was because of the high fat, high protein keto diet you were following before, MM?

^I think that is part of it, I have been on so many crazy diets including Keto and I was on another one Dr. Bernstein diet that was super strict.. it made me want to binge after three months on it. I was also on Ideal Protein where I eat their foods and pretty high protein super low carb.

I am finally eating the way I like to eat, and seeing some results, just have to keep it up and keep away from the junk. It is whole foods plant based, trying to stay away from meat, and processed foods.
Try to keep the exercise up and consistent as well.

Where? You look pretty tiny, and I didn't mean to hurt your feelings about being self absorbed, but I believe you posted these pics in your drill thread and on the working out thread too. lol

Three days into a new diet is not hard work

^IMO the first few days of a new diet are the hardest, esp if it's a drastic change. One gets withdrawal symptoms.

I remember that when I went on the 16:8 intermittent fasting diet, I was constantly thinking about food from around 7 to 10 am. (1000H to 1800H was my eating window.)

I think y'all should just leave MM and her diets alone. We all have our weight & exercise fluctuations - it's a journey. Weight loss/ healthy living is a marathon, not a sprint.

MM is also a Caucasian woman (or a woman of European ancestry - whichever is more PC). Her body stature is different from those of SE Asian women. We all have varying metabolism, heart rates, etc. IMO as long as she's healthy and aware of what she's eating/ drinking, then live & let live.

(or live & let die, said the Beatles).

@qwerty - I hope you're well on the road to recovery

@edmond - looks like your diet, exercise & herbal teas are working. Keep up the good work.

Don't listen to anything KW says about me when he follows me around and is completely ignorant and wrong about what I say just to make me look bad and him look good. He's a piece of work troll, that has nothing better to do. I've said more than once I have been a vegan since the beginning of the summer so he is wrong again. And yes, I'll never look like an thin Asian, I am on my own journey and screw what other people think.

I do hope to hear Qwerty and more of his journey and what he eats after his heart attack. I got a nice green from him agreeing on what I was saying, but no reply on here.

Three days eh? Where did you pull that number from, thin air??
Do you know the work I have had to do since I turned vegan? You have no fvcking idea! It has been a loooot of work to change my lifestyle. Do you know what I cut out? I cut out dairy/meat (even fish), most oil, etc.. so it has been a lot of work. So don't say things you have no idea about just to try and look good, like you always do to me. I don't know what I have done to you, and I feel like you are just trolling for attention, but you have NO idea.

And when Edmond says I am preaching... not a chance, I am relaying what I have learned over the years and years I have went through dieting and issues with yo yo dieting, so there you go.

And here you are with another fad.

You could have stopped all the nonsense 10 years ago by simply:

Eating moderate sized portions of a balanced diet.

Daily exercise where you're not taking in more calories than you burn.

    Simple as that, really.

There's no need for bucket sized 1000 kcal salads while cutting out x, y and z.

Though this is the post-heart attack diet thread, where certain food groups are not recommended. No doubt the docs are giving the affected posters good advice etc.

Don't forget three hard boiled eggs just before going to bed.

    Hopefully after opening the windows.

Ooh. I didn't know that it was a Wings song. I've always thought it was from The Beatles.

    ******

Btw, speaking of Sir Paul McCartney (but not related to the OP), what do you guys think about the "the real Paul is dead" thingy? Did the real Paul die in the 1960s or is it a conspiracy theory? Lots of UK ppl here - so probably you guys would be in the know...
