Papa David's. Jomtien.

A friend of a friend recommended that I try Papa Davd's Restaurant in Jomtien saying that the food was good and the prices reasonable.
So off I go and finding the gaff is easy coz its on the left just as you come around the last bend in Jomtien Beach Rd before the beach.
The decor is nice, with decent furniture for the patrons being the most noticeable aspect.

The menu is extensive and the prices are middling. The restaurant was sought of half full when I arrived and it did occur to me that all the patrons were male but I didnt think about it more than that. I did notice that the table next to mine was occupied by two elder English gentlemen who were accompanied by two young Thai guys. Anyway...............

The menu was pretty classy with a carved timber cover.

I wasnt looking for the best thing that they had on the menu which I assume was the roast beef. I went for good old simple Chicken and Chips with Salad.
That would have been fine except for the fact that I was served Chicken and Chips with vegetables. They made sure to bring Tartare Sauce and salad dressing though.

That was a classy touch. (sic)

Now I hope that you dont think that I am petty but I did also notice that my beer glass was the wrong brand as well but I didnt say anything.

They had noticed the flash on my camera and it wasnt long before Papa David joined me at my table and very politely asked me why I was taking photographs. I said that I was keeping a journal of my holiday and put on this fake twitch while looking like a very sad, sad person. It didnt work and he continued to talk to me as though I was setting up another restaurant and trying to steal his ideas. ffs.
In our brief discussion about restaurants I told him that I had run a restaurant in Kan and was very mindful of keeping the customer happy. I went on to tell him that I felt that it was very important to have clean toilets and he agreed. I bet if he ever reads this he will regret saying that coz when I finished my meal I made a b line for the dunny to see for myself.

Oh deary, deary me. Look closely and you will see that his karzi looks like mrsQuirrel has been in there making skat movies. It was fokking disgusting.

So if you are looking for decent nosh in Lower Jomtien you might like to try Papa David's place.

I would have to be pretty hungry to eat there again myself though. Up to you.

120 baht from memory Humpty. Small Hienekin -65 baht.
