Since the better half is away at her mothers for awhile I have been tending to the garden and fending for myself (poor me not getting spoiled by her cooking). So I have had a pretty bumper crop of tomatoes this year. Sent this pic to the lady....

It is the biggest tomato I have ever grown. I have big hands and wear and XL glove so trust me it is huge. The plant has several more that will most likely be even bigger. It is an old German heirloom variety. So she told me to make salsa but not with the heirlooms she insisted they are for slicing only. :) So I used the smaller red tomatoes and made salsa...

Not as pretty as she makes it and I did not have the limes or cilantro that she usually makes it with but I think it will do as this is the blokes cookery thread after all. :)
May need to make tacos tomorrow.
*edit* I thought I would add a pic of the salsa she made a couple of weeks ago. The knife skills are obvious as she is a pro. Way better looking then mine...

nope, I dont go backwards...:) The main thing keeping this place alive is photo threads. Now that is going to die. Pretty silly, like listening to a boxing match on the radio. Old school. Nice to see TD going backwards..
Thanks Mod Dave...:) looks better especially the rubber band I forgot to throw in the mix..
Its granite, great work surface. Snub, wish I had your salsa cruda with the heirloom tomatoes. I used to use photobucket but the bastards messed that up. Now the choose image from file option is what I want. It never worked. They got it to work, and now its fucked... Cheers.
That chili came out great.
Finally figured out an easy way.

Hey, it works. :D
I made too much chili, so had to switch pots. Just done and I forgot to take shot plated. When I eat it again as a leftover meal I will stick up one more shot. In the big pot and hot.

Please, no accolades . . . but I'd like to thank my mother and father, without whom I wouldn't be here . . .:naughty:
did this chili cheese dog with a 6 inch smoky dog, onions, my chili, cheese, and hot sauce. Damn nice but had to use a knife and fork..:)

^ looks great AO
Think this belongs here. A leftovers breakfast. We had some already cooked paprika spiced pork sausages, excess sauce from a hang lei curry the wife cooked yesterday and some mushrooms perhaps approaching their expiry date in the refrigerator. Decided to saute the mushrooms, then added and slightly reduce the curry sauce, then added sliced pork sausage, stir it around a bit and then two sets of eggs and covered. Was just ready to serve it when the wife said there was some left over rice so she quickly heated it up and we sat down with some strong coffee to enjoy. It was actually quite good.

Agreed. Love me a good chili dog but I always add raw onions on top with the cheese. Well the weather is getting colder here in the PNW and we have a cold snap coming with the temps getting down close to freezing this weekend and snow forecasted for the mountains. it will be time to break out the slow cooker and do a nice chili but I think I will do a stew first.
Not sure I could do curry for breakfast. That just does not seem right. :)
Bogan....I have agree with snubby, curry for breakfast isn't something I've been able to do, though it does look good and decently photographed.
^ agreed, raw onions and a squirt of mustard.
Her indoors requested an ekonimyaki from a boozer near my gaff. Unfortunately for her i lingered for more beers than were necessary and eventually found myself in another boozer ordering a Beef Rendang to go. ( cooked by an aussie) more beers were necked and i made it home mad max style on the scooter. Found the ekonimyaki and the rendang in the basket of the scooter this morning. A quick zap in the microvave and that fooker was breakfast. Awesome.
