    I have some of his pies in the freezer as we speak and had a chicken and mushroom pie last evening as my repast. Rather splendid actually. Washed down with a large bottle of Archers finest swill.

    That looks lovely.

    Can't say that I've found a real decent pie in Australia yet.
    Must have eaten them from 30-40 different sources. Not a patch on a half decent UK one.

    Dear LT

    Your pists are always entertaining peaking around 1959 pre dinner, I often spill my Ovaltine as I read your brilliant posts.

    However worth a check up lest you have early onset Pietimers disease.

    Some of the symptoms is forgetfulness,a feeling of filling and sometimes you become crusty

    ^ There a many competitors coming out of the wood work with pies and other pastry products using pasty sheets purchased from such retail outlets.

    And I asked you a question and know nothing about where you buy your pastry from.

    I'll send you a free pie via Registered Thailand Post which will need to be signed for and you can decide if I should take the pies global.

    Here you go Plies, a simple cross-section that will give you an idea of what people are paying for real meat pies in Pattaya:

    Pies.-np1-jpg
    Pies.-np2-jpg

    Firstly, Neungs Pies. I tried 2 different types a few weeks back and thought they were quite good, excellent pastry!. You'll need a highly experienced Pattaya back-soi navigator with you to find their shop.

    Pies.-lh1-jpg

    Next is Little House out on the Lake, Greg (who's been here forever) has got in on the pie making act now too. Tried one last week on the way home from golf and while it was tasty, the pastry isn't as flaky as I like and it had a slight vegetable oil after-taste to it (????).

    ================================================== ========================================

    Then there's these guys of course which are twice as expensive a other places but we're comparing a Mercedes to a Mazda and some people have no problem with the price.

    There's other joints making them too lately that I've heard about and as their shop locations and photos appear on the Pattaya food groups, I will try them out.
