In Thailand steer clear of the local brands of tomato juice, they are just too sweet. Go for Campbells if you can get it. I think the juice of a whole lemon is way too much. More like a generous squeeze.

I also like vodka gimlets. Vodka and Rose's sweetened lime juice on the rocks. And what could be better than a vodka martini on the rocks?

Some further suggestions, If you want it to be refreshing crush up the ice a bit. My wife brings them to me when I am out in the shop sometimes working on the truck and they are quite good. We have a magic bullet mini blender and she bumps it a few times. My FIL likes them too. The lime really adds a nice taste as well. I am a Tequila drinker when I like to drink but from time to time Vodka is nice. Use good Cranberry juice, Ocean Spray can be had a Topps, Big C, and a few other places. Langers is watered down.

^That is about the best one here in Thailand. 1 liter about 950 baht. If you ever buy a bottle make sure label or seal is in tact. While I have never witnessed it in all my years here, some have said that they fill bottles with "Other" and sell. Stoli has a plastic break seal so its more secure. Absolute does not.

Vodka is a 'neutral spirit' which means it takes on the flavor of whatever it is mixed with. so unless you are drinking it neat buy whatever is on sale. If you are mixing with anything other than water get the cheap stuff, if your ego demands the best to drink with cranberry juice, OJ,bloody mary mix etc. then remember to make sure your nose is firmly 'in the air' !!

Strange you would say that!! I start of with a healthy amount of voddie, and as the evening goes on the amount of vodka seems to grow!! If there is any left in the glass the next day, the first swig lets me know that i did go a bit OTT the night before!!

I don't drink it in bars, far to expensive for a splash of vodka in your coke. £10-12 for a vodka tonic. That's where handbags with a half bottle in them come handy. Or did, when i was younger. I often take a small bottle of half coke, half vodka to concerts etc.

I remember when i was in Thailand, we found spicy tomato juice in the 7-11. Can't find that here, i liked it.

For Christs Sake. Loaded with Icebergs, 1/4 wedge of line, way to many bubbles on the inside of the glass. I bet there isn't but a tablespoon of Vodka in that drink. You will burp and pee more than you will get pleasantly anesthetized. :)
