The famous American chicken/burger/oyster restaurant has opened in Bangkok.
One of the original Burger Evaluation Team members has a birthday today, so it was decided to check Hooters out, so to speak.
Located about 50 meters down Sukhumvit Soi 15, one can enter the hallowed halls of
HOOTERS
Walking into the place, I couldn't help but notice how upscale the place has become. It's really nice, spacious, airy and comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive and as always, ready to have a picture taken.
Speaking to that regard here's the menu:
I couldn't help but be completely shocked by how expensive the food and drinks are there. I've not been to the states in over a decade but for the life of me I'd never thought I'd be dropping $100 US on burgers/wings and beer at a Hooters.
We had fried dill pickles which were superb and the portion size was nice, considering I could have bought a large jar of Vlassic dills from Villa for less than what I paid.
The wife ordered the beef sliders and the birthday boy ordered chicken sliders:
Some more food porn...burgers and stuff:
Wings (350B for 10)
Philly Cheesesteak (500B)
Chicken Burger (~350B)
Dessert
Way over priced and the food was generally shite. The curly fries with the Philly cheese steak were completely unseasoned and mine came with salt and pepper. Pepper on fries? Why not a dash of smoked paprika instead?
The burgers were way over cooked, I ordered mine medium rare and got well done. They were also bland and "mealy" like there was too much filler in them.
I won't be back. Complete disappointment was the general feeling from the 5 of us that ate, considering our tab came to ~4300B.
Ambiance: 8
Service: 9.5
Food: 4.63 (The fried dill pickles were very yummy)
Drink: 5 (433B for 3 pints of Singha, though they were buy 1/get 1 as was the margaritas)
Won't be back, too rich for my blood.
