Hooters in Bangkok, this week....
The place is located on Soi 15, just off Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok, the farang area basically between Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy. I also stay there, at the hotel above the world famous Thermae Coffee Shop.
The prices were ridiculous. We, if you are getting this email, can "afford" it, and it's in our "budget" as several jackass's like to say when they price is the issue, but "we" meaning most on this list don't like getting ripped off.
The girls were just normal, friendly, Thai girls. All in their 20's or 30's, all decent looking but nothing "special". The outfits are just like any other Hooters but for us who live here, nothing special. We can and do? see nude when/if we want to so not a big deal to us.
I ordered 20 chicken wings "hot". The price was 680 Baht, plus I got a bottled water, priced at 50 Baht. Added on to this was the scam "++" aka 20 percent for tax and "service". The wing sauce was definitely Hooters, I know the taste from my days in the USA. The wings however were served wrong. They serve in a pile which for those who know anything about serving deep fried food is a mistake. The grease or whatever it is, oozes down to the lower level, making the second call it ten wings quite greasy but since you are in for 680 Baht, you are going to eat them. Good cooks and even people like me who have prepared for groups know you have to let air in and under deep fried food like wings and shrimp. I was actually quite full after about 15 wings, and that's strange for me. I've had some stomach issues but this was still odd. It was the grease. I didn't complain, no point....Paid and left.
My most interesting observation was a group of five well dressed men our age at a table, drinking red wine by the bottle, doing some shooters, and they also had a bottle of some other liquor they were sharing. They were all well dressed guys, long pants, dress shoes and shirt, no tie. It was some sort of office outing(late afternoon). They weren't flirting or playing with the Hooters girls, just having a hell of a good time, roars of laughter and good cheer. I've not seen this in Pattaya to this extent. I mean either the well dressed men or the roars of laughter etc.. For some reason, it was just interesting. I was trying to remember the last time I was in such a group. It's been years and years.
There were no promotions on any boards etc.. All you can eat wings at 599 Baht while perhaps worth it, with the prices of beer you will still be looking at a huge tab. The place is nice as mentioned, but simply way over priced to the point of being a rip off.
Cheers. Nok the Kook
Pretty good review, Nok...Not that I'd be going, anyway...
Cheers...
100 baht of street food fills me up. Chicken wings is like a poor man's duck. If you are going to pay 700 baht then you might as well buy a whole duck or 2.
Some of the food looks a little dry, but perhaps that's just me. I guess you are paying for the experience of 'dining' at Hooters. I'll give it a whirl, as a Brit I've never been to Hooters
They opened a "Hooters" in Koh Samui in October. I haven't been to it, but walked by a few weeks ago.
I had a look at soi 15 hooters a couple of weeks back. I thought it was crap!
Here's a sad bastard visiting Hooters.
you tried to copy american brand but the waitress's boob size is really small..
you guys should get bigger boobs waitresses to attract customers
Hey, texh...Welcome to the Buffalo Board...Home of big hairy beasties with small titties...
