    Banana Liquor

Some years ago I visited Tenerife and drank the Banana Liquor famous there; I was wondering as we have an abundance of Bananas here in Thailand if anyone had made the same here and if so do you have the method and recipe please?

    Here's my old granny's recipe...

    •2 medium-sized bananas, peeled
•1 teaspoon vanilla extract or a 2" length of vanilla bean
    •1 cup sugar syrup
    •3 cups vodka

Mash the bananas, and add the vanilla and cooled syrup to the vodka. Shake gently, steep for 1 week. Strain and filter. Drink now, or age 2-3 months for best results.

Double the sugar for "Creme de Banana".

Optional flavorings: a pinch of cloves, a piece of cinnamon stick.

Goes down nicely after a meet and potato pie.

My old granny's recipe was simpler: 1 part banana (optional) to 384 parts gin.

There are assorted ways in which to create a highly potent distilled banana liquor - by way of banana/and other fruit mash - natural sugars.

Local moonshine with a hint of plantains...

Poster Piwanoi does a good home made brew of Pineapple wine. May be he could give you some tips? You should find him in his usual location, The Doghouse.
