What with all the stink from the UK about horse meat finding its way into certain major brands beef products, I thought I'd pose an open question...

...have you ever eaten horse?

I tried some in France once when I was about 15. It was okay. Not bad.

Would I try it again? Only if there wasn't a better alternative on offer. While I wouldn't go out of my way to eat it again, I don't think it's any worse then eating baby sheep, pigs or cows.

Yes I had it in France when I was on a skiing trip. A cheval burger. Tasted just like Zebra.

My experience was like a cheap, second rate cut of beef that hadn't been tenderised particularly well, but had been gently casseroled for a long time to compensate.

Like I say, it was okay. Just nothing spectacular.

I've been to Norway and thought that whale was average tasting. The locals love it of course.

The speed of the Facebook pictorial jokes made me laugh as much as the jokes themselves!

One my favorite foods is the mule sausage in Germany. That and some of dark fremented bread and the cheeses and white Rhine wine are simply exquisite. Eating and drinking beer in Germany is really a treat.

While working in Ulan Battor, I was once offered a tasty snack, that someone later told me was a fried horse's testical. At the time, I was very hungry so it tasted alright to me !!

Only in Hungarian salami (which was delicious). Never had it on a plate like a steak though.

I too have eaten horse meat in Holland and if I hadn't been told I'd never have known the difference.
I wonder how many lawsuits are going to come out of this ?

Eaten it many times when I was living in Germany. No problems with it as long as people tell me that is what I am eating !!

I prefer it to beef. Cheaper and more tender.

A good venison is much preferred over Moose.

Wonder where all this recalled frozen meals are going to end up?, relabeled and export
back to France or Belgium, where they dont mind a bit of horse, now they are saying its
Donkey as well!, or the Chinese they would pay a premium price for it.

This is the tip of the iceberg,no one knows what shit they are putting in our food,if this
can happen in UK where they are supposed to have Govt departments checking on the quality of food products,just imagine what goes on here
