With Hoegaarden and an inexperienced bar lady, sump half of it, say it is a little cloudy, and get a new one. Always worth a go.

I almost considered stealing one of those big 500ml glasses! Huge and heavy, I'd like to try and buy a couple. There was only 2 of us drinking in the restaurant at the time so I think they may of noticed

Last night i was with Katy.

Dark Beer lao for me last night, feeling a tad rough today.

Katy is 7.4% no sore head for me only had 6 bottles.

Very cold cans of Guinness. Going down a treat in the heat of the day.

Had a coupke of these last night. Quite nice, peaty but with a sea salt finish.

The `catchup` starter of double jd coke, dark lao and sambuca, for those nights you have to meet a mate who`s been on it all day and totally larupped

The clocks just struck 3 and as its a public holiday in Lao, I'm just about to rip the scab of my new favorite beer, Tuborg, now brewed here by Lao brewery, makes a nice change

A nice treat, a very strong peaty flavour, lots of oak, 43%. Much better than the 10 years old.

This is a lovely alternative to champagne, especially if you are making champagne cocktails. less than 1/4 price of champagne and great with a shot of cognac...or if you are feeling frugal, use it to top up a Martini vodka instead of tonic water.

On my second bottle already...greeeeat stuff!!

Russia bath lotion kills 48 drinkers in Irkutsk

At least 48 people have died in the Siberian city of Irkutsk after drinking bath essence, Russian authorities say.
The hawthorn-scented liquid was consumed as if it were alcohol, according to Russia's Investigative Committee.
Several others are in a serious condition. Two people have been detained over the deaths and police are removing bottles from shops.
Investigators said a warning that it should not be swallowed was ignored.
The product, called Boyaryshnik (Hawthorn), was found to contain methanol, a toxin found in antifreeze. A state of emergency has been declared in Irkutsk, and Russia's top investigative agency opened an enquiry into the incident.
Russian media reported that the victims were poor people, aged between 35 and 50, and were not drinking together.
Household products are seen by some as a cheap alternative to alcohol across the former Soviet Union.

Two years of Western economic sanctions have made the situation worse, and analysts say up to 12 million Russians drink cheap surrogate alcohol, including perfume, after shave, anti-freeze and window cleaner.
While poisoning from alcohol is common, this is one of the deadliest incidents in years. This, officials said, was because the ethyl alcohol which was normally present in this product had been replaced by methanol.
A local official told Tass news agency that the liquid came in bottles whose labels said the content was 93% spirit.
President Vladimir Putin's spokesman described the case as a "terrible tragedy".
And Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev told a cabinet meeting that authorities need to ban such substances quickly. "It's an outrage, and we need to put an end to this," he said in televised remarks.
Last month, Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Khloponin said medicines and perfumes accounted for up to 20% of the alcohol drunk in the country.
