    Kafir lime trees

Anyone had success? We have one pathetic specimen we planted 10 years ago..has grown about a foot! Pisses me off that arsehole BIL chopped down a climbable tree with massive amounts of fruit to make way for a carport for his #$%^&*ng black Toyota Vigo truck!!
In Canada had to pay a kings ransom for dried leafs for the wife to make Thom Yum or some such!!!

Woman across the street has one about 20 feet high (7 meters). Does absolutely nothing to it (watering or fertilizing) but pick the fruit from the ground and occasionally picks the leaves.

Kafir is much more valued for the leaves than the fruit.

Actually, the leaves take on more pungency if kept cropped back and not allowed to fruit.....
Rare to see a Kafir going off into this mutated gigantus - as they're also very slow growers.

I have 2 in my compound and they are only about 2 meters tall after 5 years. I guess on the positive side we don't need a ladder to pick leaves or fruit!

I had one in the NE part of the US....brought it inside every winter and put it out for the summer months. It was about 3-feet tall in a pretty big pot. I worked the past 6 years in Malaysia and my sister killed it when I was gone. Bought it off a Thai woman who sold them in the area.

I bought a small plant(100 baht) about 3 feet tall at the prakonchai night market two years ago come this Oct , Its now 8 feet tall and has been fruiting now for about a year , I dug a pit about 2 foot deep and filled it with mature buffalo manure and stuck the plant right in the middle , I feed it monthly with a mixture of Urea and and the green soluble crystals I knew as GROWMORE back in England, for the small outlay I get 10 times the value in fruit .

Buffalo shit actually, but I suppose Bullshit would suffice just as well , I think its the Urea that does the trick cos all citrus absolutely thrive on it thats why many people piss at the bottom of the bush which amounts to the same thing I suppose

Don't forgot the Urea cos its vital , just mix an hand full in the bottom of a bucket filled with water and just pour it at the base of the plant
