Anders Behring Breivik wants acquittal or death penalty
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2012/04/1512.jpg
Anders Behring Breivik has told his trial in Oslo he believes there can be only two "just" outcomes to his trial - acquittal or the death penalty.
Breivik, who killed 77 people last July, said he considered a lengthy jail sentence "a pathetic punishment". Norway does not have the death penalty.
He also said he had been "very surprised" to have survived the day of the attacks.
Prosecutors have been quizzing him on his links with militant nationalists.
On the third day of the trial they have been trying to disprove his claim of the existence of a far-right European network

David Gilroy jailed for murdering former lover Suzanne Pilley
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2012/04/1516.jpg
An Edinburgh man who murdered a colleague after she ended their affair has been sentenced to life in prison.
David Gilroy, 49, must serve a minimum of 18 years in jail for killing 38-year-old bookkeeper Suzanne Pilley.
Gilroy, a married man, was found guilty of his former lover's murder last month. He denied the charge.
Ms Pilley sparked a major hunt when she disappeared in May 2010. She set off for work in Edinburgh, but never made it to her desk.
Prosecutors believe Gilroy killed her in the basement of the building where they worked in Thistle Street and buried her the next day more than 100 miles away in the forests of Argyll.

A pair of interacting galaxies consisting of NGC 5754, the large spiral on the right, and NGC 5752, the smaller companion in the bottom left. NGC 5754's internal structure has hardly been disturbed by the interaction. The outer structure does exhibit tidal features, as does the symmetry of the inner spiral pattern and the kinked arms just beyond its inner ring. In contrast, NGC 5752 has undergone a starburst episode, with a rich population of massive and luminous star clusters clumping around the core and intertwined with intricate dust lanes. The contrasting reactions of the two galaxies to their interaction are due to their differing masses and sizes.
