A soldier who was decorated by the Queen for heroism during the Korean War has met her once again, after nearly 60 years.
Arthur Pembroke, 83, met the Queen as she continued her 11-day tour of Australia with a visit to an officer training academy in Canberra.
The ex-officer last met the Queen when he received the Military Cross during a Buckingham Palace ceremony in 1953.
Mr Pembroke said he admired the Queen's "dedication to carry out her duty".
During the visit to the Royal Military College, Duntroon, the Queen presented the institution with new colours.
The monarch chatted to Mr Pembroke during a garden party held following the ceremony.

Italian rider Marco Simoncelli has died after a horrific crash at the Malaysian MotoGP in Sepang.
The race was stopped after four minutes when Simoncelli's bike veered across the track at turn 11 into the path of Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi.
The 24-year-old had his helmet knocked off and was hit by both other riders.
American rider Edwards also fell but escaped serious injury - while fellow Italian Rossi was able to return to the pits.
Simoncelli lay motionless on the track after the impact, while the race was immediately red-flagged.
At first officials were looking to restart the race before the extent of Simoncelli's injuries became clear.
Honda rider Simoncelli first entered MotoGP for the 2010 season and won his first pole position at the Catalunya race in June this year.

At least 32 people have died and 132 injured after a bridge collapsed at a political event in India's tea-producing region of Darjeeling.
More than 150 villagers were standing on the bridge for talks by local separatist leaders on Saturday night when it collapsed.
Officials say the victims fell at least 70ft (21m) into the fast-flowing Rangeet Khola river.
The army, fire brigade and police helped residents in the rescue effort.
Up to 60 people were rescued on Saturday night, but the search on Sunday was mainly focused on areas down river, reports say.

New Zealand were crowned world champions for the first time in 24 years after squeezing past an inspired France team by a single point.
Tony Woodcock's early try and a penalty from fourth-choice fly-half Stephen Donald were enough to see the All Blacks home in an extraordinary match that defied all pre-match predictions.
France produced their best performance of the tournament and appeared to be close to pulling off one of the great upsets after captain Thierry Dusatoir's try with half an hour remaining set up a nerve-shredding finale.
But Francois Trinh-Duc missed a long-range penalty before desperate defence saw the favourites hang on for a famous win.
The final whistle triggered scenes of wild jubilation at Eden Park as a nation celebrated a repeat of the outcome from the very first World Cup final in 1987.

Esther Vickery dies one day before her 110th birthday
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2011/10/2874.jpg
A woman thought to be the oldest in Wales has died the day before she would have turned 110.
Esther Vickery was born in the year Queen Victoria died and spent most of her life farming in the Swansea area.
A devout chapel-goer, she never drank or smoked and lived independently until 2005 when a fall forced her to move in to a care home in the city.
Jane Thomas, from Ty Waunarlwydd home, said: "It had been a pleasure to care for her."
Welsh-speaker Mrs Vickery was born and raised on a farm, and made her first milk deliveries using a horse and cart.
Her late husband Tom was also a farmer and after they married the couple started Pwll-y-Whyaid farm, which is now part of the Portmead and Blaenymaes estates.

Rescue workers try to save people trapped under debris after an earthquake in a village near the eastern Turkish city of Van Oct. 23. Turkey's Kandilli Observatory estimates that some 500 to 1,000 people were killed in a powerful earthquake in southeast Turkey's Van province on Sunday. Separately, Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay told reporters some 10 buildings had collapsed in Van city and around 25-30 buildings collapsed in the nearby district of Ercis.

Grape pickers dance while treading grapes in a traditional stone tank at Quinta do Vesuvio vineyard, Sept. 19, near the village of Foz Coa, northern Portugal. After spending the day picking grapes on the slopes of the Douro Valley, in the evening the workers tread the grapes to be used in the production of Port wine. Port wine sales have been falling steadily since the turn of the century, jeopardizing the livelihoods and way of life of thousands of people along the Douro Valley. Picture received Oct. 23.

The All Blacks coach Graham Henry has spent four years planning for tonight following his side's unexpected departure from the 2007 tournament at the hands of Les Bleus in the quarter-final in Cardiff. Henry looks tense ... very tense ... and so he should. Four million people are relying on his judgement

A ferocious rendition of the haka follows ...
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2011/10/2913.jpg
It's a far cry from the haka the touring party of 1916 performed against South Africa in Richmond, London. This looks more like a case of heads, shoulders, knees and toes
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2011/10/2914.jpg
The French greet the haka in curious fashion by forming a spear-shape, led by Dusautoir, and then advancing towards the All Blacks
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2011/10/2915.jpg
They stop short of their rivals – perhaps a wise move as McCaw and his cohorts are looking pretty pumped up. Ma'a Nonu even seems to be singling out a member of the opposition for the finale of the Kapa o Pango ... chilling stuff ... and what a way to precede kick-off in a World Cup final
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2011/10/2916.jpg
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2011/10/2917.jpg
Piri Weepu shanks the opening kick of the match. It's gone woefully wide
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2011/10/2918.jpg
Nevertheless, it's the All Blacks who strike first ... prop Tony Woodcock dives over the try-line unimpeded after Jerome Kaino flicks the line-out ball down towards him
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2011/10/2919.jpg
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2011/10/2920.jpg
Bad news, though, for Graham Henry. Having lost his first choice fly-half Dan Carter in the pool stages and his second choice Colin Slade in the quarter-final, his third choice Aaron Cruden has just twisted his knee and can't continue. What a calamity. 33 minutes gone and Stephen Donald is thrown in to replace him. Only two weeks ago Donald was fishing in the Waikato River, now he's playing in a World Cup final
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2011/10/2921.jpg
Donald begins the second half by seizing the kicking duties from Weepu, who's missed three out of three. It's a pretty straight forward kick, this one, but the pressure is on. Fortunately for the AB's Donald squeezes it through the posts and gives them an 8-0 lead
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2011/10/2922.jpg
But within three minutes France are on the attack. Rougerie steal possession and sets up a passage of play in which Dimitri Yachvili breaks free but slips. William Servat then misses an opportunity to spread the play wide, but inside Dusautoir galavants through the centre .
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2011/10/2923.jpg
... and touches down. There's only one point in it after the try is converted
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2011/10/2924.jpg
The French are ploughing into the All Blacks and though the New Zealand forwards are increasingly desperate they are, so far, holding firm. Trinh-Duc sends a long-range penalty wide of the posts in the dying stages and France's best chance of victory may well have gone with it
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2011/10/2925.jpg
And there it is, the final whistle is blown and New Zealand are the world champions once more!
