Catholic church suspends 21 priests suspected of child abuse

Archbishop of Philadelphia acts after grand jury named dozens of clergymen accused of paedophilia

Cardinal Justin Rigali, the archbishop of Philadelphia, said the priests had been removed from ministry while their cases were reviewed. The names of the priests were not being released, a spokesman for the archdiocese said.

"These have been difficult weeks since the release of the grand jury report, difficult most of all for victims of sexual abuse but also for all Catholics and for everyone in our community," Rigali said.

The two-year grand jury investigation into abuse in the archdiocese of Philadelphia resulted in charges against two priests, a former priest and a Catholic schoolteacher who are accused of raping boys. A former high-ranking church official was accused of transferring problem priests to new parishes without revealing they had been the subject of sex abuse complaints.

    Egypt bloggers persistent in protest

Egypt has the largest and most active blogosphere in the Arab world, and their work is done at great personal risk, facing arrest, prison, torture -- and even death, in some cases, says British photojournalist Anastasia Taylor-Lind, who is based in the Middle East. In this photo, the 'godfather' of Egyptian bloggers Wael Abbas, right, with fellow activists Kareem El Behiry, center, and Ahmed El Sayad, left, at Al Borsah Cafe in downtown Cairo, Egypt in 2010. Many bloggers are the children of Cairo’s intellectuals, radicals and activists and they gather late into the night in the shabby downtown street cafes their parents inhabited in the 1960s and 70s.

Ehab El Zelaky, Web editor for the independent newspaper Al-Masry Al-Youm, pictured in the newsroom in Cairo, Egypt. El Zelaky is considered one of the first Egyptian print editors to engage bloggers in the print media. The bloggers are supported by IT specialists, human rights lawyers, and independent newspaper editors.

Anniversary of 'Bloody Sunday' observed in Selma, Alabama

Congressman John Lewis, center, walks arm in arm with Rep. Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.), left center Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.), right, prior to addressing fellow members of the The Faith & Politics Institute gathered on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Ala., Sunday, March 6, 2011, on the 46th anniversary of Bloody Sunday.

Marchers cross the Alabama river on the Edmund Pettus Bridge at Selma on March 21, 1965. The civil rights marchers, eight abreast, were led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This was the start of their five day, 50-mile march to the State Capitol of Montgomery, Ala. They were fighting for voter registration rights for blacks, who were discouraged from registering to vote, particularly in small towns in the south.

Funny there are no bankers on this list - again

    "
The richest man in the world is Jacob Rothschild. It has been said that he has half of the money in this world: trillions upon trillions of dollars. He, of course, belongs to the House of Rothschild whose origins began as bankers. From those beginnings, his family was able to control the world. It is this reason that they invested their knowledge and power in Great Britain and the United States of America. In doing so, the House of Rothschild enticed the politicians of each country (most of them members of the Elite anyway) to adopt the Federal Reserve. And, the rest is history my friends. Ever since the adoption of the Federal reserve, America's control has been in the hands of the Elite- in a long, downward spiral."
