As November begins, many men will stow away their shaving equipment for the month and let their stubble blossom into beards as part of "Movember," an effort to raise awareness of men's health issues. London to Brighton veteran car run

Five hundred vehicles take part in the RAC's annual 60-mile trip from London to Brighton in what is the longest-running motoring event in the world. The first run was in 1896, and it has taken place most years since its revival in 1927. To qualify, vehicles must have been built before 1905

Two people were rescued from their car after it was left hanging off the M6 in Merseyside.

The North West Ambulance Service said one suffered a leg injury in the crash, which happened at 08:32 GMT at junction 23, near Haydock.

Firefighters from Merseyside Fire Service returned the car to the road.

Two lanes on the southbound carriageway remain closed, the Highways Agency said.
