Fearless adrenaline junkies took part in one of the largest extreme sports events in the world- and one base jumper even ended up tangled in ropes. Daredevils, including London-based Paul Fairman, climbed 876 foot up and down 20 ropes off the New Gorge bridge, in West Virginia, United States and base jumpers leaped from the top of the bridge, for 100,000 spectators who watched with baited breath below. Amy Hinkle took part in a tandem rappel, which saw her ascend the bridge on the same rope at the same time as her partner Brian Stoltz.
