    The price he mentioned was " 1 Baht 50" meaning, 1 baht 50 satang, or 1and a 1/2 baht.
Just had to read the whole thread to correct that.

Ao, another request to please continue this great thread.

Okay the past is the past and I will finish the thing. Let me catch up and see where I left off.

Fucking obsidian is the main reason I stopped the damn thing. But he is history, and I am having fun on here again.

Choklit was perhaps the most amazing person I have ever met, yet I never even witnessed the amazing Choklit.

He was a street child of Denpasar he never knew his mom or dad and all he could recall was the street , jails, and this prison. He did not even have a low class Balinese name as he had no parents. Somewhere along the line he picked up the moniker Choklit. He was brown as could be from a life spent in the sun. He was only 23 or so but a bit hunched over from carrying rice sacks, his job from when he could lift them until his troubles started.

Right before we built the garden another inmate and friend brought Choklit over to visit one day. That was the best thing about the prison there, you were locked up from 6pm till sunrise, but during the day you could go anywhere but over the walls. We were introduced about 7am and the first words from his mouth were "selemat pagi boss" What was that about? He wanted work as a servant and they knew I had some money. So a deal was struck. From the early am of each day he would hang and help over in our section of the prison. The salary? Coffee in the morning, and a packet of food we had brought in each night. Plus he had access to our boiled water.

He was the happiest guy on earth.

Why did I want a servant? I did not I wanted Choklit on my side. I had heard about him from the day I arrived. He was magic to the Balinese, from what they said he could move from place to place like a ghost.

The proof was to them a couple of days before we arrived he had been put in the "hot house". A penalty room. It was about the size of a large dog house but with a flat roof, made of tin to make it hotter. Plus it had rebar below the tin. I sure as hell would not want to be in it, and the people I saw come out were changed. It was 4 to 5 days, with only water, and the evening gruel.

Well he had gone in to the house. But when they went to get him in the morning, after locking hime and everynne down he was not there. He was asleep back in his 20 person low rent cell. I did not see it, but I have to believe it as everybody in that jail believed he had powers.

Even the mafia heads left him alone, and gave him respect. But you must realize this is Bali and there had been a caste system for centuries. He knew he was the low of the low and made no big deal about what he could do. Supposedly he had done things like this on a quarterly basis.

He proved it to me by doing something I did not think he could do. In Bali when the Balinese guard the Balinese its very very laid back. To this day. I had more freedom along with the other gang members, we as the others were let out at sunrise, but we basically locked ourselves in at night. After we had eaten and talked and often drank, we closed the cell door.

So one day we were all talking the guards, and it came up that the regular prisoners like Choklit got out earlier as their cells were simply opened earlier. So Yoyo the gang leader says let Choklit come let us out, then he can get our hot water while we lay in bed. Sadly this was the truth, but was to be the beginning of a pattern that made me get out of bed each day with a smile.

The big test of Choklit as far as I was concerned would come the next day. In Bali the guards trust the inmates to open up the cells themselves. So Choklit would get a big ring of keys, perhaps 50 in total to come open my cell first. That very day the guard handed Choklit the key ring and said which one is Ao's? " This is the key to bosses room came in like 5 seconds". No way he could have known.

So the next morning I hear my cell open and my thermos go. Then about 5 minutes later I hear his flip flops running at top speed. Drops off my hot water and procedes to open the next 5 cells, greatly pissing off the German who had just gone to bed. The sound of those flip flops and the smile on his face each day was another reason to get justice. Which is soon to follow.

anybody recommend a publisher, or editor? Thanks so much for the compliments.
Y'all ready for the finale? But then you have to sit through the epilogue.

Nice to read the continuing story mate.

I was beginning to think it would have to wait until my return to Thailand to hear the rest.

I just started reading this amazing story, I am glad I have been able to get through what has so far been written in one hit....pity the guys waiting for so long. AO thanks for a great read but I imagine that it is a bitter sweet experience for you..well done and I hope you bring it to a conclusion. Having read it all in one hit it is irritating that fvckwits drop in on a story and add their useless two bobs worth and stuff up the flow.
