These Whistling Spiders can grow quite big, but I think that photo's fake.

Dead End - oil exploration in the Arctic. Underwater image of Norwegian company TGS Nopec conducting seismic blasting off northeast Greenland, firing airguns that emit 259 decibel blasts towards the seabed in order to find possible oil reservoirs. Above water, this sound intensity would be perceived by humans as approximately eight times louder than a jet engine taking off. Global oil companies including BP, Chevron and Royal Dutch Shell all own drilling rights in the Greenland Sea and are the likely customers for the data uncovered by the seismic testing company. A Greenpeace expedition onboard the icebreaker Arctic Sunrise is currently documenting the seismic testing fleet, which plans to complete 7,000km of ‘survey lines’ of the seabed in the high Arctic, between 75 and 80 degrees north. According to a new scientific review, seismic blasting is ‘alarming’ and could seriously injure whales and other marine life in the Arctic.

Love to know the story behind this.
I reckon someone must have hijacked the truck and stashed it in the woods then got busted for something else or had an accident or an illness before they could come back for it.
(Or just couldn't find a buyer.)
^ What a restoration project that would make?
^ Yeah, really. Perfect for one of those stupid Discovery Channel shows.
^ I'd watch it.

Northern Lights paint gorgeous picture in Donegal skies

Stargazers were treated to a dazzling display of the Northern Lights over the weekend.
The aurora borealis was visible across the north west as skies cleared yesterday evening, painting the night sky with shades of green, purple and blue.
The ethereal spectacle is caused by charged solar particles interacting with the Earth’s magnetic field.
Photographer Bren Whelan who captured these shots said it was the “mother of all aurora shows.”
“Last night we had one of the biggest, most impressive aurora shows right across Ireland.”
“An epic night was had from Malin head to Cork.”
Met Office space weather adviser Amanda Townsend said.“Once in a while the solar winds are enhanced to levels stronger than normal, with particles at higher speeds, and on this occasion it has connected really well with the Earth’s magnetic field,” she added.
In addition to the cosmic weather being just right, conditions closer to the ground favoured those who ventured out into the cold March night.
