It looks like a half-cooled lump of lava.
The veg might be described as 'post apocalyptic'.
I'm with aging cyrille. Looks like a lump of coal.
Which, coincidentally, is more useful in the kitchen than Chitty.
Tough crowd here Joe. Don't let them get you down. Looked OK to me. Probably just not a good photo eh
To be fair, big UK supermarkets are pretty good about marking down food when it is still perfectly good to eat. Anything marked down in Makro will be useful only in the compost. The other day I picked up a couple of 'Fresh Lemons'. They looked okay, but the packing date was November and we are at the end of March. That was the packing date, not the picking date. Maybe they are still okay, I wasn't about to find out. Four month old fruit isn't what I'd call fresh.
^ If only there was a way to grow them in Thailand Shu
Happy to be home in Cardiff for a break. Just a fucking shame my luggage is somewhere in Scotland.
^ Surprising you know your luggage is in Scotland!
Makro is terrible about selling products near their expiry date. I would never trust just to pick up milk or eggs without studying the date because it is always so near the end. Is it because their goods go through a central warehouse for packaging that takes so long? Or they buy old stuff to sell cheap?
^
it is because macro is another branch of CP, the thai mega monopoly in bed with those who own the country who seem to be in control of everything eaten in thailand, and as such give not a flying fuck about its customers, because they have nowhere else to go!
I wait years to get hold of a lovely 1/35 scale model of the famous Bell X-1 and then a monster 1/18 scale example comes up just a month later!
The X-1 has the nickname Glamorous Glennis painted on its side after the wife of Chuck Yeager, who piloted it to speeds up to 891MPH making it the first aircraft to break the sound barrier in level flight.
Still no bags. Should be delivered tomorrow. Trip from hell so far.
Who did you fly with ?
Just curious
I used to like travelling light, but that sounds somewhat inconvenient
I think that Nid has mentioned before that he likes to fly KLM.
Nothing to do with the awful KLM flights and compressed wood cutlery, but via Amsterdam you can get to provisional UK airports and avoid the horrors of LHR, and the associated rip-off and third world onward travel by bus/train/hire car.
That's certainly the only reason that I fly the awful KLM... my mum lives 10 minutes from Bristol Airport.
I often find it amazing that most UK passengers prefer to use a European carrier because it's more convenient.
I recently crew changed form a boat and guys flying from Aberdeen to Yorkshire and Bristol were both routed home through Amsterdam with KLM. That's mental, but there were no other viable alternatives.

ME are definitely better, but I still prefer KLM purely for the convenience of BRS being so close to 'home'.
Yes mate, KLM it was. Normally a great and convenient routing. Leave BK lunchtime, get in to Amsterdam early evening their time, connecting flight 2 or 3 hours later, in Cardiff and home by 11pm on the same day I left.
This time it all went wrong. Flight BK to Amsterdam departed on time, and arrived on time. Picked up some duty frees, and headed to the gate for the onward flight. At the gate we were told the flight had been cancelled. Using one of their fucking people-less terminals, I was able to get my re-routed flight details, a bus, meal and hotel voucher. The terminal threw a wobbly at my (Thai) travel companions details and would not issue anything. Spent a fair bit of time finding an actual person to deal with this. Problem was that the hotel was out of the airport, and the Thai traveler was not allowed out of the airport. What fun. We were able to get the re-routed flight documents. We asked if the bags would be still routed to Cardiff, and were told they would be. Spoiler alert - they were not.
Luckily for us, there is a small capsule hotel inside the terminal, and they has rooms which we took for the night.
Despite the fact that there were three direct fights to Cardiff the next day - we got routed Amsterdam to Edinburgh to Cardiff. Importantly, although we do not realize it, the re-routed flight was Amsterdam to Edinburgh on KLM and Edinburgh to Cardiff on Logan air. I am sure the astute amongst you are already saying ah ha!
We blithely got off on the Edinburgh flight, and went directly to the follow on flight. Unbeknown to us, our bags were sitting on the carousel at Edinburgh, waiting for us to pick them up and transfer to the domestic flight, as the Edinburgh arrival was international, and the Cardiff flight was domestic, so the bags need to go through customs.
We did go through customs, and when being screened for the Cardiff flight my duty free alcohol was picked up and confiscated.
Arrived in Cardiff, and in our state of ignorance, awaited our luggage on the carousel.
After reporting the lost bags, finally arrived home. Next day was calls to everywhere. KLM basically said not their problem, and that we had to deal directly with the terminal carrier - even though they never got possession of the bags!!!
Finally some nice man in Edinburgh phoned me, saying he had the bags. He was going to send them in two days, as there were no convenient Edinburgh Cardiff flight the next day, but in the end they routed them back to Amsterdam and then back to Cardiff.
After another day or so, Cardiff finally contacted us, and said they would send the next day. I said OK -but no one is home between 12 and 4pm (pre-booked easter lunch). Fine they said, we will send them after 4pm. Half an out later they called back and said the only available delivery time was 12 to 1pm. Fuck.
Arranged to have the bags delivered the next day (we had been without the bags effectively for 4 days), at 7.30am.
Just to add a cherry on top of the cake, at three am on the morning of delivery there was a huge power cut, that kept electricity off until about 2pm that afternoon.
Great start to my vacation.
