Yeah they gave Slinky shots, changed his diet and tried several other things that didn't work. The thyroid medicine is working though. Forgot to ask the daughter if its in pill form or liquid...or what.

Finally got out of town for a bit yesterday. White knuckled it 20 miles to see my daughter and family...plus Slinky. He's getting back to normal with the thyroid pills doing the job. Had trouble getting the ornery bugger to sit still long enough for the camera to focus. But you can tell he's doing much better than in the previous pics I posted.

Made a batch of 'Home made' sausage rolls yesterday. 12 of them, all golden and delicious looking. Left them on the worktop to cool slightly. I came back 5 minutes later and found that the dog had eaten them. I wondered why he was in such a rush to get outside.

Whenever the tesseban carry out any remedial works in the village you can be sure they'll fcuk it up. Don't know if it's due to tea money being paid or the staff are complete idiots. May be both? Anyways over the years they've tried to alleviate the amount of water that comes of the land adjacent to where I live. It doesn't effect my property.
So over the last 4-5 years they've been installing one meter concrete pipes. Only problem is that they do not put any kerbs in to guide the waters into the access points. The only way water gets into the drains is by luck or direct hits from the rains.
They just finished a new section before the rains came and they replaced some one meter pipes that they dug up being part of some previous work. After digging them up they decided they could reuse them and put them back. Unfortunately some clever cnut decided it was okay to put back the ones they'd broke upon reinstalling them. The photo's show the story up to now. All the pipes they've just installed will now have to be ripped out as it's the only way for it to be made water tight.

There is a road not far from my place on a hillside that is just concrete pads and every 5 or so years the water undermines it and it cracks apart - been going on for donkeys and no one seems capable of thinking of a solution or as you suggest perhaps the works are pencilled in as part of an income rota.
