Same problem here. People banging on my door when there is a chime right there. But it's also white on a white door frame. Never bothered changing it...

Am actually thinking quite seriously if I need to put a sign highlighting it, particularly if we get Thai guests to our homestay
    I can solve this mystery.

Thais won't enter the grounds of a property unless they are given permission. Due to the laws, this means you are well within your rights to shoot anyone who enters your property without consent.

You need to install the bell on your boundary wall next to the entrance.

If you look all around the moo baans, this is where the bell is normally located.

Pointless drying off after a shower when you're dripping 2 mins later!

Will it be aircon or some hastily concocted bike chores?

I've had too many similar experiences in asian countries, even Singapore queues are bad at times. Then again, it was the same in UK last time i went back in 2015. They had just installed the new biometric gates, so not too bad for natives.

My first time into Indonesia a few years ago, I was at he front of the plane and got my baggage first. Into the nuts and bolts department all smiles, and got searched for drugs, suitcase, washbag everything emptied. They even took one ibuprufen tablet and tested it in front of me because it wasn't labelled. Can't grumble too much, because they were actually quite civil about it. Just me not being prepared.

Left the scouts about 50 yeas ago.

^ Commiserations. I've had builders over the road with humming, buzzing and grinding machinery for a while now.

Blimey leave Gert at home alone think she tried to take a bath in the wet room basin. Yesterday video chat she mentioned a problem in the wet room video footage revealed the sink laying on the floor, luckily she didn't brake the water pipe to the tap.

Cant say - coming in the Thais are separate. Did not pay that much attention going out. My guess would be kids also.

Twas in Swampy and Changi yesterday going home.
So many space cadets standing in thoroughfares, phone-walking eyes down, crossing pedestrian traffic streams without a thought etc etc.
They don't establish the eye contact that enables inconvenience avoidance.
Do they drive this way ?
Are they responsible for the kamikaze scooter attacks experienced on Thailand roads every day ?
Can they be ground into nutritious meal for shrimp farms ?
So many questions, such little progress.

edit - upon reflection the above sounds a little rough.
The required grinding should be done in a caring, sensitive, culturally appropriate and environmentally sustainable manner.

Organic farming. Better than all those chemical fertilizers...

What's always fun is when you're the one on the tractor spreading the shite on a windy day and you get into the wrong position with the wind behind you. Been there, done that.

not quite sure how organic the shite is.

There's still a certain miasma in the wind and thankfully the temp has dropped markedly.

Did the UK online identity check on gov.uk- a simple process according to the site, only 15 mins of my evening taken. Erm, the reality was success, but it took the best part of 2 hours. If anyone has to do the same thing, save yourself a headache and use the postoffice app
