We're having the house painted at the mo, inside and outside. Talk about stressful. My missus comes to me today and says the painters want some rolls of 2" sellotape. I ask what for. To mask off the inside windows when they paint around them she says. I ask why didn't they mask off the windows when they painted the outside. She didn't know.
I get some proper paper masking tape and told her to get them to use that. They don't like that and want the sellotape. Okay I take the missus in the house. I show her the window frames. I point out that the metal security grills won't allow them to mask off. She won't complain to them as she says it's not good to keep questioning their work.

Why the hell don't they bake and slice bread these days that fits your standard toaster. It either drops right down inside so you can't retrieve the toast without poking around in there with a knife.
Worse still, an inch of bread sticks out of the top and remains un-toasted. So you have to rotate the slice partway through.
That invariably results in the toast being burnt.

I wake up on my birthday with a sore throat and aches and pains ... signs of flu... and it's the week-end and wife is 5000 miles away. Then I go to work for 6 hrs, making myself feel even worse...come home and try to kill the flu with some ultra cheap alcohol...Henderson's gin and Deit pink grapefruit (don't ask why I have this in the fridge)....

...next morning I can't swallow, have headache and a slight fever but don't know if this is down to flu or the booze...wife moans I haven't 'lined' and thinks I'm sleeping with 60 virgins...although I question this wrt my symptoms cf such a scenario.

Turn up at work today after killing the damn flu and find only a skeleton crew with most not turning up due to having...fooking flu.... so I end up doing their fooking work as well.

Agree but it is the overseas/international stuff that doesn't get the eyeball-melting speeds that people claim. 100Mb would be of any use to me if it was only nationally!
Also depends on who has the movie I want.
