That one was probably past the mice eating stage, given the size. They're difficult animals to keep, even when born in captivity.

Feeding less frequently is usually done so they stay a manageable size for as long as possible.

Some Thai told me they inject the snake as they don't feed so regularly.

^^^I think it would have kept perfectly well in the freezer for at least 6 months.

Yes that site is showing people how to develop proper feeding habits of the species which is crucial for safe handling of captive Burmese pythons. A wild Burmese python will only feed once every two weeks or so.

From reading that and all the newspaper reports I have read they seem to eat whenever they get the chance and most times get caught barely able to move, but hey, your the expert, aint you?

I'm sorry erco, but reading the feeding habits of pythons in the bit I quoted makes them sound like they will eat if the food/chickens are there.

Do captive human prisoners eat more than free ones if they have the chance?

The site you quoted from is about captive pythons, are you having trouble realising the difference?

Is pre-killed the politically correct term for live?

Sorry, I've been away from civilisation a while - since when have we been pre-dead?

Pre-killed=killed before feeding them, you can store food for your snake, i.e. rats, in the freezer.

nope. means the animals have been killed prior to feeding the snake.

ie not feed live to the snake.

Thanks, just that my mate used to feed his pythons with live rats and chicks, which I took as the quote to mean pre-killed.
