Sad but not surprising. On the bright side, the whole ceremonial stuff sounds nice. Hopefully hubby will ge doing this in a few years.

Yes I did mate , I have a better understanding of where our poll tax goes every month ie.
On entering the building someone to say hello and point you to the waiting room

Then you meet a rather smart man who takes your name ticks a box and gives you a number.

Then another nice lady ( who by the way has grown a better moustache than I could ever muster ) shows you up the stairs , where we were met by two more nice ladies to usher us to our seats.

Not forgetting the lovely lady who stood behind the free tea and coffee
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs

When my wife became a British citizen, I refused permission for the ceremony and photographs with the mayor. I told them to shove their sandwiches. All we wanted was the paper and we didn't want to play a part in making a prick look important.

All we got was a piss poor performance from the registrar. No butties, no mayor or his helpers, and the picture of the queen was propped up on a chair, Welcome to the UK. What a fuggin disgrace. Thank god she`s proud to be a Yorkshire lass instead. Issan, Yorkshire, same same. Reviled by the rest of each respective country. Fits in well she does.

Eye she does. She`s even got the latest Gti model, so now we can communicate in under an hour. We`re dead posh ere, we`ve even got glass in our windows.

She`s from Suwannaphum, south of Roi Et.

Final update the wife's now got her UK passport today just a day and a half after her interview , thats nothing to worry about .

This has been a long old journey about 3 .5 years to get to this stage , its a wonderful feeling , to have the freedom to come and go together , no more bloody forms to fill , no more money to pay up , no more hoops to jump through .

If there is one tip I could give to help anyone just setting off on this journey it would be to get your wife registered with a professional person asap i.e. a doctor as this will come in very handy 3 years down the line , if anyone wants any help on any of this just PM me ok ,cheers

Don't be so keen to offer help to others. Immigration requirements are changing all the time and, after having negotiated your citizenship, it's bloody hard work to keep up to date. I helped my wife's friend, they had known each other for many years in Thailand, but swore I would never do it for anybody else again. It's just too much responsibility to volunteer for.
