what about the kid having a motherOriginally Posted by tsicar
presumably, as you married her, she has many good traits
why should the kid be taken away from her?
well, perhaps she is a perfectly normal, well adjusted thai girl with high moral standards, an excellent mother etc blah, blah......
we will give her the benefit of the doubt for now..............
but the chances that the child will grow up to be a well-adjusted human being with a brain, in an environment where his physical AND mental needs are both taken care of, where he will have a chance to improve his lot and reach his full potential, with a decent education, healthy and clean living conditions, and proper nutrition, if he grows up with a "normal" thai mother are virtually:
NIL!!!
and without making judgements about the mother, who i do not know from a bar of soap, i am 100% sure that the poor child (if he is not simply dumped on the grandparents to drag up), will grow up to be just another brainwashed, useless thai male:
because the bloody CULTURE demands it!
EVERY thai person i ever met (and i met plenty from all walks of life), took excellent care of ALL their childrens' WANTS, and NONE of their NEEDS.
i challenge you to state, that you HONESTLY believe that as soon as the farang is out of the picture, this child will have a chance at a childhood of emotional stability and opportunity,
and that he will receive the stimulation he needs to become a free-thinking and intelligent human being, unfettered by the bonds of the disgusting and restrictive culture, superstition and subservience to imaginary, dead and living idols, freaks, beggars in yellow dresses, etc that dominate and suppress and prevent most thais from ever becoming anything more than "just another thai"

is that a question like "when did you stop beating your wife"?
there was no question.
there was no invitation to reply with one of your famous and childish and boring "korny kracks."
i don't care whether you beat your wife or not.
i simply challenged you to produce reasons why you would think what i posted was inaccurate.
not many of us who have lived in thailand for any length of time have managed to keep the blinkers on for long enough to ignore the blatantly obvious.
those that continue to delude themselves mostly remained behind on tv forum.
if a korny krack is all you could muster in response, then why did you not just STFU?
as usual, you are too thick to understand the reply
the point was that your question was couched in terms that left no room for any reasonable answer
so it was not a "korny krack", as you assumed but a response that went straight over your thick head
I should have learnt by now, you have no subtlety or intelligence

I seem to remember to have read some where that say if you build a house (and you can prof you have paid for it) on land your spouse owns the property is still yours (the house itself) and you have the right to do with it what you want, so if you want to burn it to the ground or bulldoze it you can. (but you still have to run to be on the safe side Thai police don't always adhere to the law initially and you could get in a heap off trouble)
But you have a child together and angry as you might rightly be, there is the future of your child to think of, do you want the child to grow up in a tin-sheath shack or in a decent home ?
For me it would depend on the situation, if the breakup is caused by say- me finding her in bed with the gardener that really turned out to be her real Thai husband that she had had all along, the house would go down in a cloud of dust, and I would do a runner with my child, if on the other hand it is just one of those things where initial infatuation turns into too big differences in culture and expectations, I would have to admit that the fault was maybe really mostly my own, and just walk away a painful experience richer.
Hope it all turns out OK for you in the end.
That can be absolutely devastating !
Handled a claim where a disgruntled shop employee ( in Spain) did exactly that on his last day at work when he was sacked.
Left a 13 kg bottle in the basement of the shop.
Took down the three story building and the one next door !
2 dead and a dozen injured .
Would not recommend that route !!!!!!
