Friend of mine tried to get one of these a year or two back for security clearance.

Then there was apparently no such document available and the only thing he could get was some document (only in Thai of course) from the local police station saying there were no outstanding warrants for him.

Something to do with the records being indepedent in each province and none of them linked together in a database. I suppose he could have got one document from each bloody province!

Found this for ya MD its a couple of months old and off "another" forum

Royal Thai Police--clearance check--latest Just went through this procedure as my school in Korea requested it although its not part of the Korean Immigration rules which only requires a check from your HOME country.

Armed with a week off from my school and flown here at the schools expense, I duly reported to the Royal Thai Police HQ on Rama 1 ( very close to Lumpini Park) Bangkok.

Using my state of the art rental car ( Suzuki Carribbean ) I approached the HQ and was stopped by the local Boy in Tight Brown who stuck a mirror under my car (looking for an exhaust I think as it is VERY loud).

Using my Thai oral skills to great effect which went straight over his head I craftily pointed at my finger pads and made pressing motions with them onto the windscreen. Satisfied that I was a genuine loon he pointed in the vague direction of a building.

Plenty of car parking space and not a clamper in sight. Parked up. Thought about locking the car up ( it is the Police HQ ) but then thought..........fcuk it, no twat in his right mind would want a bright pink Suzuki. I only took it cos I got a good deal on it.

Walked through the glass door marked " One stop service. Clearance report". Armed with a photocopy of my old WP and current passport I presented myself to the Information desk. A real nice cutie in Thai police uniform, unfortunately not tight.

She spoke great English. Photocopied the WP copy again, my passport and handed me a 1 sheet questionaire in English.

Name, place of birth, passport number, address in Thailand, name of father and mother, sons and daughters, address of previous school. Took 2 mins to fill in.

Directed to the fingerprint guy who did the job in 2 minutes. Washed hands clean.

Taken to a small room and had my handsum mug pictured. 1 minute.

Waited in a small queue then sent to Senior Staff Sergeant Somchai who looked pissed off but was in fact very nice. Spoke good English. He signed everything off. Gave an address in Thailand for it to be posted too. About 10 days.

    Job done.

In and out in 25 mins total. Great service and very efficient.

To sum up, if you need a Thai police check, take along your passport and WP and errrrrrrrrrrr yourself. They do everything else. TOTAL COST. 40 baht for postage back to you. Thats it.

This is the same place my wife had to go to get a police report for her Australian Permanent Residency Visa. Reading through that post, it appears to be exactly the same procedure.

I think that's what you're looking for, MD. Good luck !!
