A client needs a GOOD LAWYER in BKK

    I'm not kidding.

I received an email from a client who needs a good lawyer in BKK. It seems a very nice case. Field: Company, fraud, Etc.

We rarely go in BKK (but have some cases there). I know law firms in BKK, I worked for one. However, this client neesd someone with experience, speaking English, that is honest and competent. And that won't charge crazily.

I would rather like to receive PRIVATE messages or EMAILS than posting names on this forum. I just want to help this guy.

I am sure there are plenty of good Thai lawyers in BKK... Thanks for your help.
(I also ask a friend of mine, foreign lawyer who used to work in Phuket and he was in the same situation as mine...not able to quickly find a name...)

    Seb,

Sounds to me like you don't need a good lawyer, but a good litigator. If that's the case, you'll struggle to find one who speaks good English in BKK.

I received 3 private messages in 24 hours. That's perfect and enough. I will advise this guy to contact all of them and chose the one that fits him.

Yes, it's a litigator that he needs... I'm from Canada, Quebec. Over there, we do not have differences between lawyer, attorney, barrister, litigator, etc. Anyone with a license can practice in any field, and plead in any Court even the Supreme Court. However, lawyers tends to specialize in a field... but this is done AFTER you got your license and pass all the exams for all fields.

Mediators (often for family law) have a special license and can be from different background (psychology, law, etc.). A Notary CAN NOT be a lawyer and a Lawyer CAN NOT BE a notary in my province. A notary mostly used for wills, transfer or a property and uncontested cases, mostly involving property and inheritance.

    Thanks for all input.

its a difficult subject, to say, this one is a good lawyer,

that why I would only say,

have a look on the lawyer list from the american embassy,

    http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/attorneylist.pdf

then, you will not be responsible for mistakes of your advise

One of our members is a farang lawyer but he's in Chaing Mai, but maybe he could help or has some contacts in Bkk.

^Thanks for drawing my attention to this Scamps.

Unfortunately I'm no help at all sorry. The only person I could've thought of to recommend in this situation is no longer in BKK.
