Just been catching up with better half, who informed me that she's just registered the ivory that's in the families budda shrine.

There is the ivory act, 2013. This law requires individuals to register any ivory that they have with the offices of the Wildlife Conservation Division of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment by April 21st.... tomorrow. or face the consequences, which this being thailand will probably be nothing or seriously horrid should you be unlucky.

Apparently individuals are allowed upto two pieces each ( max of 8 for a family). No identical items cannot be registered, as this would demonstrate commercial intent, and witness and/or documentary evidence the the ivory is obtained legally is required. In better half's case, they only asked for a signed statement.... but then her stuff is clearly many decades old.
