    Buying Shares

How do I go about buying shares in Thai companies here. I have been reading about PTT several times in the last few weeks and think maybe a few hundred shares in them might be an ok investment over a year or so.

OK. You need a work permit and Baht 50,000 to open the account. Once you have done that, go to

    http://www.kgieworld.co.th/

(which is the Korean stock brokers KGI Securities), or type in Thai Securities Brokers in Google and check out other sites, like Phatra Securities, etc.

Download their online application form. Do as requested, including sending the money. The account will be opened a day or so later and you can then play the markets online to your heart's (or wallet's) content.

*becareful, stocks can go down as well as up*
