Job in Bangkok but freelance on the sideline

    Hey guys,

I am starting a job in Bangkok in september,

however I would like to work as a freelancer on the sideline, officially, because all my clients ask for tax numbers etc...

Is there a way to do this? I am quite sure I can't be subscribed as a freelancer on the sideline in my own country, bcs then I need a job in my country first. I'm also not sure if I can be subscribed as a fulltime freelancer in my country and also have a job in Thailand. So my question is, what should I do?

    Thanks in advance

^For starters, you might try writing a post which can be understood. We have no idea what you do, what you want to do on the side, what type of visa you have, what kind of company you work for, what your home country is - just to name a few things you left out. Don't expect help if you can't define the issue.

You could be a little bit more friendly u know..

I just tried to make it more general, didn't know it would be such an issue.

So the company i work for is a german company in Bangkok called Softcontrol, they will give me a working permit so the visa is no issue. I am from Belgium and I work as freelancer in Webdesign and Software Applications. Anything else?

So if you have existing customers you are already freelancing on the side? You customers require a tax receipt so they can claim your fee as a business expense. Customers where here or in Belgium?

I am not subscribed yet as freelancer in Belgium, I just have Belgian customers.

This is my question to u guys, should i subscribe as freelancer in Belgium and let them pay my Belgian bankaccount. Or is there a way to become a freelancer subscribed in Thailand and let them pay a Thai bankaccount?

    Thanks for replies

work permit permits you to work for one company which gets you the WP.

Another angle to this, if your freelance work is very lucrative, able to cover the work, time and costs involved, you could set up a Thai limited company and then pay much lower Thai corporate income tax compared to income tax Belgium (not knowing anything about taxes in Belgium but pretty sure, if the work is as in this example, lucrative). You could then get 2 work permits in your book and both jobs would be legal.

Or just pay it into a Belgian bank account...
