Anyone seen 'em for sale in LOS?
Anyone seen 'em for sale in LOS?
Maybe posted in the wrong section????
Get them made somewhere local, angle iron with a point on the end and a series of holes drilled down the lenth of it!
A while back i was asking the same question, why use concrete for fence post when a star picket would do the same job cheaper...they[ pom/thai] did,nt have a clue what i was talking about...
a bit of angle may do the job..but not as good as a star picket..
Chins manufactures them ,
so it's a fair bet a local Chinese type hardware store will be able to source them .
Good point. I'll give it a go next time i'm in town. Thanks.Originally Posted by Mid
yes....I have them on the plantation.
Built the boundary fence with em.....used a star picket rammer also.
Also used high tensile barb.....even used a proper pair of wire strainers to do it....and fencin pliers...crikey.
I got star pickets in the garden, holding up the passionfruit.
Holdin up the purple creeper thingy.
Got some to spare in the shed even....for rainy days.
They are nice, I like me pickets. Was going to get ringlock fencing also, but declined.
I like poisoning my neighbours dogs till they die cos I'm a cnut
^ Well, that's just peachy.

See Nawty, this what is known as being "helpful".
So you dun need it anymore then ?
The guy i bought them from has sheep also......and trailers from Oz.
if JatuJuk don't work out...let me know and I shall search for his number somewhere......nice pickets.
So why couldn't you tell me that in the first place?Originally Posted by Nawty
Find me the number, please. Thank you.
I had a mate called Lance Wasson of Wasson Engineering Plastics, a Sydney based manufacturer in Peakhurst who developed a similar fence post that was approved by the CSIRO and was widely used throughout Oz and Asia very successfuly.
I tried to Google the info but drew a blank so if someone in Oz can check up their business info in the local papers and post it up here I am sure it would be appreciated.

^ Thats the one and give Lance a call.
His product was considered the best anywhere in the world and I believe he may have a manufacturing facility in Asia as well.
I did...kinda.Originally Posted by jandajoy

It's a relief to me and most of the folk in the village to know that you've got them and are using them.
Thanks.
p.s. Sabang is mightily relieved.
Thanks for the tip LT. Given that I'll only need a max of 40 6 footers it'll probably be cheaper to get them here in LOS.
shame the bloke doesn't advertise his email address.
Excellent.......so, now would you like to know where i got them....or are you right with the JatuJuk avenue ?
You will need to go at least half a metre into the ground and make sure the plastic posts are rigid and straight and it has to have the correct mix of U.V stabilizers as they won't last 1 year in this type of weather.Originally Posted by Nawty
Lance's posts were tested and passed every weather condition over a long period.
Do you know the proper technique for getting the rammer onto the 6ft picket there JJ ?
make sure you get a video of the Thais doin it and put on youtube....
