A big mistake is making your plans too detailed. They'll only confuse and most of it will be ignored.
Do a pretty picture then get a local architect to do the plans.
If you want specific things like bathroom stuff, tiles, roof tiles, kitchen stuff, windows and doors, you'll just need to source them yourself and show Pops exactly what you want.
This is how my architect mates do things here, and I really think you'll get a better, cheaper result. Also, I wouldn't bother explaining things in too much detail. If you want wires hidden in the walls for speakers in your home theatre, just give him the cable spec and show him where you want it putting.
Juat make sure you keep a close eye on things as they will put stuff in the wrong place as a matter of course, because they're a bunch of fucking monkeys.
