Well fuck, I guess I should come over there and watch you a bit and see just what the fuck is going on.

I did not believe the pumpman as his explanation did not fit the symptoms,so inspected the set-up myself.
I then noticed the crack and fixed it, and the problem
I had another look today and there is a leak. Somchai is coming around to see if it can be fixed on Sunday, otherwise we'll have to fight the landlady over who is responsible for a new one.

Where is the leak and how much of a leak ?
It seems to be coming from underneath the motor (to the rear). It's only a pinhole (or maybe a fekked gasket) at the moment, so a bit of chewing gum should sort it out.Originally Posted by Thetyim
Fek! Still not fixed! Bet Somchai is BIL.
OK - I bet you 10,000 Baht he isn't.Originally Posted by Travelmate

I was just going to get the kid to sit outside with his finger Araldited over the hole.Originally Posted by dirtydog

Yea, we use a lot of it on dredges for patching pontoons that are leaking, and holes that the drunk boatmen punch in things and people are just squirrelly as hell on the water with a steel boat as long as it belongs to someone else and then stuff gets old and develops leaks.Originally Posted by dirtydog
That stuff is called Splash zone and is an epoxy that you mix by kneading it and working a ball of it in your hands til it starts to heat up a little then smear/force it into the hole/crack and it will kickoff no matter how cold the water, fresh or salt.

Thank you, yes
Really?
I been made in America,, as well as a lot of other places and I am the best there is..well actually I used to be a lot better than I am today.
Can't fight no more, so now you fuck with me and I will just kill you and get it over with.
Somchai came round yesterday. He wired it up again as he said the polarity was wrong and replaced a part on the pump.
Strangely, it's still cutting in and out because they didn't drain the pump's chamber. They've just turned up and I explained it to them again and one of the guys appears to understand.
We shall see...
Is this an example of the blind leading the blind?
Had he fixed the bladdy pump yet?
I told them when they first came round that it has a hole in it and then it needed draining. I assumed they'd fixed the hole, but no. They replaced a perfectly good part and only now are getting round to fixing the hole.
I'm just letting them get on with it, but I hope their night vision is good because they ain't going until my water is back on and night is drawing in.
Somchai knows how it works..Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog
These pumps come with a molded plug which you usually cut off unless you have a power outlet nearby to stick the plug in.
There ain't no polarity on them. Good luck with the hole repair
It's not any different, so we're going to have to tap the landlady up for a new pump.
Should be fun.
They have 2 choices...
1. We'll not pay rent for a month (3500 Baht) and get it sorted.
If they don't agree,
2. We'll sort it out but take the pump with us when we leave, so they'll have to buy a new one anyway.
I think they'll be OK though, as they seem quite OK about stuff. (<-- Famous last words)
