Hi, Looking for 25mm wire cable for my main panel for my condo in Bangkok. I have looked around by me but the biggest I have found is 16mm. Any help would be great. This would be multi strand cable.

2.5 not 25
It is the cable that is coming in my unit from the meter down the hall. I need to extend it about 2 meters. It goes to my 60 amp main breaker.
Are you sure that's not the conduit size?Originally Posted by Vettronics
It measures across at about 10-11mm but I am told it is called 25mm cable.
16mm2 should be enough.
What does the marking on the current cable read?
Cannot see any markings. I was told it is 25. I saw the 16mm and it was smaller then what is in my panel. Yes I am sure I can go down to 16mm if I had to.
10mm2 is only good for about 40a max using, like, standards & shit
If your main breaker is 60a then 16mm2 is probably fine.
Whats the part number for the main breaker in your condo? It will have a max wire size.
Down our way we delegate such tasks to happy local for 2 Changs or $3 100 baht
25mm is about 140 amps. You certainly wont have a problem with that size mains but 80 to 100 amps should be sufficient for a normal large house let alone a condo.
Yep. A condo in Bangkok should have a maintenance guy or 2. Have them do it.Originally Posted by 2020Fission
Thank you everyone. I found it and completed the job. All the Best.....
Another question. I am building a home and there is only single phase 50mm wires on the street poles. The biggest meter I am told I can get is 30/100 AMP. My question is The home will be about 80 to 90 meters from the road. Will 25mm wire be enough to get the power to the home. I know the main breaker will only hold 25mm but will I loose much power over that distance with that size wire. I was thinking going bigger and then down sizing at the Panel. I think though I will be fine with 25mm.
I will most likely have a 3 bedroom home with 3 bathrooms, 6 A/C's, Total of 6 big rooms. Modern Kitchen with all the whistles. A detached 2 car parking area with a additional closed in room for my hobbies. That room will also have A/C. Also will have 2 barns for animals and at least another building for supplies. We have 2 ponds and there will be a Sala hanging over the bigger one with outlets and lighting. All building will have good electric supply. I always over size electric wire.
Funny thing is the people up north told me that all was need was a 5/15 AMP meter. I didn't answer them though. Just smiled. Well any help will be Great.
I don't think you'll have much voltage drop over that distance but I certainly hope you have a solid supply in the first place.
Are you in town or kinda rural? End of a long line of homes on a rinkey dink single phase line?
Do you need copper or alluminium (I think that's how you spell it)
If copper you may need to special order as 16mm2 seems to be the biggest.
25mm2 alluminium on the other hand should be easy to find.
My guess is that it is alluminium as they tend to use either 16mm2 copper or 25mm2 alluminium as mains cable here.
Long live your grow loom
Hi Slick,
Yes it is in the Farm area and just got wire on the poles last year. It is at the end of the line but not really any homes just farms with small shacks, etc.
