My guess is the proper flange was not used as the start of the PVC run. It would have been about 5mm thick 15mm wide with a circumference just inside the inner diameter of the toilet base. Usually it is slotted so a Carriage Bolt can be slipped unto each side thus allowing the pvc with wax ring seal to draw the toilet down to form the air/ water tight seal. You really don't have to know your shit to get this right. haha. But who knows mabey the flange was set flush in the floor or omitted alltogether. Usually there are hints on how to use the ring on the box, just show somchai the pictures.

Speaking of flange I dated a smoking hot girl in my early 20's that was a plumbers apprentice. She wouldn't put out so I dumped her. Same for the gal that's now CPA. The CPAs father ownes a massive tool and die shop that employed many of my friend after high school. Not to mention the gal that went on as a major Jewelry chain founder out of Chicago. She showed up at my sisters 10 year reunion sporting a Lamborghini. Proof positive I was thinking with the wrong head in my youth.

Teach that to your impulsive young sons. No regrets, I'm doing fine now but damn I could be retired by now. Well thats been true for a while regadless. Good luck on the crapper.............fish.

I was thinking this has all the makings of a classic TD thread. Drama, suspense, conjecture and opinion. All you need now are a few more pics,

PS I penned all this while on the crapper. I hope I don't have a heart attack when I stand up or it really will be peace out........the fish.

The old toilet did not have a wax ring just cement ,which seems to be the norm here.I left the new wax ring for Somchai ,and he seems to have used it along with cement ,but i was not looking over his shoulder ,i just left him to it .

Shit roll ,is there in the photo to the right .Needs a refill.

Underneath ? Yes it does have an underneath ,its just that the lid has a curved bit that covers it .
Bum gun ? Its there but a bit high up and out of the picture.

Silicone can be used around the perimeter ,but it will not make a long term water seal inside at the exit spout to the sewer drain .The Thai system works and is cheap .Removal is not a problem .The old toilet was easy to take out without breaking .Want a s/h toilet ? lol

Have a look at the bolts connecting the tank to the bowl if they are plastic Ok, if they are steel replace them with plastic or stainless steel!
Gotta disagree with u there .
Hollow drill bits for tiles are the ducks guts for high load apps like toilets and wall hangers.
Nice neat circles that wont crack or split once you bolt into them and put a load on.
    Available in thailand.
Cheaper than a beack road Lb and you can shit on them for years.

Nice crapper, glad you've got it straight. I'll admit I have never seen one that wasn't bolted in place. That one looks pretty sleek. Last I looked the Cotto brand as well as other standard models still were using bolts. This in Laos but many years ago now. And yes hard to source the ring back then there.

    When in Rome.

Failed attempt at posting the Cotto brand toilet. First try from smart phone. Oh well I've failed before and will again I'm sure. Anyhow. ....

May you get many happy flushes from your new commode.

This one is a ''SUMO'' brand .It does have bolt holes at the back ,but i don't know how you could use them ,when the crapper is against the wall ;-) Doing it the typical Thai way its not bolted down anyway .
