Thread: Thailand sewer workers...

I had the idea that the sewer cleaners in Bangkok were trusties from the local nic...is that not correct then?..

Guess it could be as I have seen them myself working. But these workers were a combination of males and females.

Septic tank cleaners are called "Honey Dippers" in these parts, same job different titles!!!

Sure makes me appreciate the relatively easy life I had.

That's the usual American term.

Here in Saudi we use Bangladeshis when needed, but most of the work is done by vacuum trucks (sludge gulpers / perfume wagons / honey trucks) and the driver's mate just wears heavy gloves. Some residual smell, but as with most Middle Eastern men, they just add a little more perfumed deodoriser spray to the ensemble.
