about the same stuff as before Songkran......chasing walls, put conduits in,and close 'em up again....starting with the bricks upstairs too...
the water and shit-tanks are coming too....
and by the 26.4.the roof tiles are coming...it goes on as before songkran....full steam ahead....
me in action, this bricks are very easy to work....but a hell lot of dust....plus me and my wife and some cambodians got some skin rashes....a high level of Potassium in the bricks, cement and plaster...i asked a good mate of mine in CH who is a sculpture-works with natural stones....and showed him....despite my super safety gear.... lucky i didnt throw it away after i left SINO....
skin issues on my arms, hands and feets.....some cream-Clinivate-N helped....
i looked like a 90years old,skin like....
water and shit tanks
the watertank is an additional one from us..not in contract,2000L
a truck full of roof tiles...
we upgraded it to "NEUSTYLE" and choosed a light, not a dark colour......its gonna be less hot, than a darker roof tile....
Great thread.
Cheers.
Could I ask you the cost of the house construction without the land, fixtures and fittings. Just the ballpark figure. Thanks.
...no macking around here...the roof tile crew from SCG is coming and full action..
ha...it reminded me my old days in the army...almost the same line up....i guess it was more of a prestart....
some stuff they use for the roofing....when i showed that to my CH friends who learned roof tiler...they were impressed....
this pic wastaken on the 29.4.16
The crew you had working on your house really seem to know their stuff.
You're very lucky.
yes no worries mate...you see the pics i just got from PD website...it is the original....exclusive or smart....we went for smart....sounded good.....LOL...
that is the current price...went up fair a bit......
thats the price we had in 2013 with all my extras.....,changes and so on....
5,200'000 when we signed last year with all my extras.....and we gonna get back 100'000 at least....
building a popular house as it seems is not gonna get any cheaper mate....DYOR
original plans....from the www as of tonight....
thats why im fussy, paid good money, deliever good work.....well you have to be on top of that....
i said im gonna say pros and contras but not now ....im tired and gonna go to bed...
there are really good things i like with PD too.........gd night......
so here you go,hope i helped you a bit
Impressive electrics mate..Interesting putting wiring in the slab? Sorta wonder why you are doing work and purchasing outlets yourself ? Assume you bought a 'lock up' stage house?
Three plus million is no small potatoes ( A$130k?) paid 30k over that in Melbourne about 15 year ago..for a much larger four bed house albeit wood frame and brick. Only thing I did was pre-wire telephone and LAN and install lighting fixtures.
The water tank you picture (blue?) looks more like a septic tank..no bottom outlets?
Window frames pictured do not have lintels or usual re concrete framing?
No offense just observations...
I work that out at 200 K AUD.
It looks like it also includes the land. ?????
If so, it's not too bad is it. ?
One hell of a house.

I am looking at these to replace a couple of outdoor lights , but they will have to use wifi for the data stream - but with data , always hardwire if you can

unless you have made sure the numbnuts doing the cable pulling have been disciplined the bashing in of the plugs can be a mite frustratingOriginally Posted by Slick
sort of puts paid to the theory on the other thread about cables being run at right angles to switches and sockets
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

Notice he has used conduit in his wall.
A very good practice and when i was on the Tools Australian Standards dictated that it must be done this way.
The theory being if some coont is drilling the wall hopefully when they hit the conduit they will stop before hitting the wires.
Then they dropped that Standard and allowed Cable to be laid in a chase with conduit protection.
Fooked if I know how they worked that one out given the very strict Australian wiring code.
Wouldn't worry Terry. the way the mining is falling off and the jobs with it, you''ll be able to buy one for for the cost of the toilet seat soon.Originally Posted by terry57
Cheers for the costs Showupman.
Enjoy the house, it looks fantastic.
Cheers.
...mmh a lot to answer.....i know now why i didnt start a thread when i was building, like bricks, roof, plastering etc.......
would have been to much.....
anyway it doesnt change much,i try to keep up with it.....will be away for a while in January.....its gonna be slow.....here.....thats how it'gonna be......
and i'll be back anyway here with my mate who worked for more than 20 years on house-construction...
will be interesting how he sees things,as an outsider......
thanks mate
yes,it was a lock up contract, but i made sure i can do the electrical work and use the stuff i wanted...they deducted the money for the materials....as well for the chasing and conduit work...
we asked for money for the sparky work, but no hear...anyway im happy i did it ...doing it...
watertank is underground, all the fittings are on top
frames are concrete framing...
no problem mate....
no Terry, but 250'000Bht for a bit over 600 square metre is not to bad....comparing to AUS or CH
my parents in law said too, good price, buy it...
the neighbors wanted it too for their daughter,or son....but never asked the owner...first come, first serve....
the one who made the complaints.....they aint gonna come to the opening.....
^
Still a great deal, I'm sure you will be having a very happy future.
Good luck to you. These success stories are really good.
multimedia i said in the drawings,i can use for TV,speakers or a CAT5/6 cable yes.....i havent got a cable in yet to the gate...but enough conduits......power,light and media...
dont want to dig up a trench again...have-had enough.....of digging.....
havent seen this lights with camera....not really my style but for what it can....what it is....alright ......thanks for the link mate....
yes they can be.....now i know now what it is......bulkhead penetrations....
well it'such a thing it had to go there, the conduits.....shortest way....
as i started as a TA- trade assistant in perth, house bashing....run the naked cable in the wall....
i couldnt believe it first....got used to it......
sparkies then telling me how high the standard is in AUS......yeah very high....i thought for myself.....and what iv seen in some roof space....
had many discussions with workmates in the mines too.....i gave up....just thought my things.....
in CH,any cable, wire "must be replacable" at any time...if im right....the rules lowered as well, more close to european standad,NIV i think they call it nowadays...
the thais think too they have the highest electrical standards on the planet....
^
The Australian wiring standard that says ya can can chase a wall, lay a cable in it and then plaster over it is a tad retarded I recon.
Australia prides it self on having very high standards and then they amend the standard to allow a system that is unsafer than before.
On the average Thai house where they run the cable down the wall were it's visible is much safer than a hidden cable within the wall that has no protection.
On one of my houses i drilled into a hidden power cable, I was on a ladder and lucky not end up in Hospital. ????
Glad I foked off to Thailand.
...and watched the foreman installing the dunnies, the base part....
he asked me(my wife) if he could leave today, instead of 2mrow....yes mate we are not such un-human.....
btw after he said: we dont need more people..not much work here left..say what...no f*&^%# way....i heard this story before...
bring em on,on the 7.1.17,or do you stay above engineer....he tries everything...wants the money just for himself....
if you would told me ,you would need this stuff one day, i think i would called you insane....
but it worked...the marks-the bell signs are off, what a beauty.....
im using this in different places where i have 3 or more switches,in conjunction with a latching relay....much easier than 3 way wiring or more......
like here, another switch is when you get into the door...relay in switch board....
outdoor light installed,a pain but it looks good...from AUS
Da Voluce Lighting Studio | Lighting Shop Melbourne, Lighting Store Victoria. Elsternwick, Toorak, Richmond, Kew, South Yarra. www.davolucelighting.com.au
from AUS too....
and the foremans work...he did one more downstairs....the tiles are redone here too now....
