    Hey CMN,

Surely something must have happened since you raised the fence. What gives? Curious to see how the spread is turning into shape.
More pics if you have them.

    very little actually.
I'm in a net cafe at the moment on my way back up there.

in a bit of a cash flow quandry at the moment.

might be resolved this week, next month or next year.

    no real hurries though.

i am rather enjoying it as my weekend get away as is.

My wife refuses to stay there owing to outside toilet and not wanting to sleep on the floor.

seems our roles have reversed somewhat.
I am starting to wonder who is the more Thai.

Back a few pages to the chainsaw question

No problem with buying and owning a petrol driven chain saw but the blade length must not be bigger than 16 inches ( or near that ) - its so you cant cut down hardwood and deprive the Mafia of their dodgy logging profits)Not that for a minute do I believe that illegal logging goes on in LOS !

we are hoping to use some of the wood that we have.

    doesn't look good I'm afraid.

the worst toilet in thailand is still standing.

some of that wood might make a decent floor.

unfortunately we can't start building until the 10th of january as that was deemed by monks 400 miles away to be an auspicious day.
    Argument is futile.

I'm not going to be blamed for any future ill luck because I wanted to start building on the 26th of December.

Doesn't look to bug eaten so you might be pleasantly surprised at how much the builder can reuse.

It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, i kitchen, i living room thingy on one floor. (this was the argument and why it has taken so long, wife wanted 2 storeys)

the living room / bedroom area is on a split level.

we have basically copied/adapted the floorplans of a place that we both saw and liked.

    a repossessed place.

    I will get pictures soon.

the builders quoted 126,000 for labour.

they claim it will be done inside 3 months.

Sounds interesting. Concrete or wood construction. BTW good you stuck to your guns on the 1 floor. You're not getting any younger and climbing steps all the time can be difficult.
