sounds to me you should lokk into using mai takiam or mai sak as material,
they are both hardwood and they are suitble for wet environment,
these two woods are used extensively in boats in LoS
mai sak=teak
mai takiam=haven't the fogiest idea
mai sak is more expensive and harder but in my mind also more difficult
to work with
mai takiam would be a good choice, I think
