I saw a bison silent generator big beast in white 12kva.

    Anyone know anything about it?

Or indeed another honda or other type?

our electirc bill is normally between 500-600 units a month in summer and 300-400 in winter so about 4800-6500 kwh a year.

I saw it too at Global House. It costs around 170,000 Baht, which is reasonable for this size. It has auto-start. The fuel tank is sufficient for running 7 hours. This type can be refuelled and can run for a long time. Cheap generators have to be stopped about after every hour (1 hour running, 1 hour cooling).

I can run my 3kva generator for hours, tank holds enough for 12 hours and then refill if still a blackout.

That's interesting, The power supply in Vientiane used to be great but with all the construction going on its getting to the point where brown outs occur a lot more, I'm considering a back up generator, how much does 3 Kva run? Is it sufficient to run an air con and a few lights or more importantly , the beer fridge, Plus EDL the national supplier started fucking over the entire town , my bill went from an average 1. 3 million kip a month to a whopping 3.6 million , for 2 months, it wasn't just me. The Lao people noticed it to and kicked up quite a fuss on social media, bottom line was someone was taking the piss, EDL have since stated that person in charge has been moved side ways. Som nam na to that fucker.

I've got a 2.5k genny which is linked up to run some lights, water pumps and sockets when needed. I just have to remember to isolate the mains line 1st

How many KVa does it take to at least run the aircon? That's my priority when the brown outs on. Can always get ice for the beer

Mine runs all the lights, 2 freezers, 1 fridge, 1 aircon, 2 large 55 inch TV's fans as required, best investment here in my opinion, just turn off the mains isolator before plugging in.
